MadBuffaloDisease Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Someone said that he was OOB before he crossed the goalline, and since it was 4th down, they would have turned it over on downs. Is that correct?
JoeF Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Someone said that he was OOB before he crossed the goalline, and since it was 4th down, they would have turned it over on downs. Is that correct? 436940 Yes...I believe we could not challenge because we had just used our last timeout of the half....
34-78-83 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Yes, but the Bills had no timeouts left and thus couldn't review the play. BTW, It looked on the jumbo-tron like his foot went out before the ball crossed the plane (hit the pylon)...
Corp000085 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Looked pretty correct to me... However (correct me if i'm wrong), i believe the bills had used all 3 time outs by that point, so they couldn't have challeneged.
jester43 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 the personal foul that made that drive possible was complete b.s., by the way.
ExWNYer Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 BTW, It looked on the jumbo-tron like his foot went out before the ball crossed the plane (hit the pylon)... 436943 It did...
MadBuffaloDisease Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 Thanks and good to know. I don't care about the (lack of) TO's and not being able to challenge so much, just wanted to know if the refs blew the call, as usual.

Offsides after a delay of game not called, roughing on JP towards the sideline was pretty weak as well. However, overall, thought the ofiiciating was horrible for both sides. BTW, thought the ball may have crossed the plane before his foot hit out, do not think it would have been reversed on review, too close
ExWNYer Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 roughing on JP towards the sideline was pretty weak as well. 436989 Whether you think it was weak or not they're always going to call hands to the face, especially when it's done to the QB. He wasn't "roughed", per se, but the call was right under the rules.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 Was that TD in the last five minutes of the half? Then the replay comes from upstairs and doesn't matter if the Bills have a TO left or not. Don't recall the time?
millbank Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 sure does look like he did,,,,,,,, in or out

JoeF Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 You cannot hit the QB in the head, period. Well, unless you're the Pats in the SB that is. 437026 The Pats and the all important 12th through 18th man.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 The Pats and the all important 12th through 18th man. Hey, they just win fairly and squarely. Just like OJ did.
Matt in KC Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I'm pretty sure his foot hit the ground before the ball touched the pylon. BUT, he hit the pylon in the middle, from the side, meaning the ball crossed the plane at some point before hitting the pylon. From all of the angles shown on TV, it was impossible to tell, but it was obviously very close. Given the down, I'm very surprised there was no attempt to review the play (by the officials). I think it's likely he juuuust got in.

MadBuffaloDisease Posted September 12, 2005 Author Posted September 12, 2005 I'll have to see for myself on NFL Network replay.

Houston got away with a Delay of Game as well. The Carr TD looked like the right call. Relatively speaking, when a few bad calls go both ways that's an above average game for NFL refs IMO.
Marv Levy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 After seeing 20 different replays of CARR. He was in for the touchdown, before his foot was OB. It was clear. And yeah, several of the penalties were very weak calls, even the one to JP - roughing the passer. BS!!
