CajunBillsBacker Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Thanks everyone, the outreach on this board is unbelievable. You are all great and i'm glad to call each and every one of you family. I'm sure there are still alot of things that you guys know that I don't know yet because the only news i've been getting the past two weeks is what was being said on the radio. After I post this, i'm actually gonna try and find out scores, news, and stats from the Bills preseason games, because I haven't heard much of anything to do with the outside world. There are a couple friends who lived directly in the city of NO who I will be trying to locate now that I have electricity and web access finally. I'll let you guys know my story soon, and anything going on locally with evacuees that the news aren't reporting.
jester43 Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 joey! yes it is definitely a relief to see you online again...i did'nt start worrying till about 8-9 days had passed, but still... whew!

losman Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Just want to say that I made it through Katrina safe and sound. Surprisingly I had no major damage to my house, only lost roofing and siding for the house. Every tree in my yard were ripped completely out of the ground, roots and all. My house dodged a huge oak tree from the yard across the street that snapped and missed my house by a couple feet. This couple across the street wasn't so lucky as their mobile home was ripped to shreds. No cell phones have been working the past 2 weeks. For a while, LAN line phones haven't been working either. I waited 2 1/2 hours in line to get gas at a local station that still had gas left over this past weekend. Unbelievable! I just cannot believe what is going on down here. I haven't even had time to gather my thoughts about the whole situation because it's devistating. Suddenly football doesn't really matter all that much anymore. Thanks to all who sent prayers my way, and please keep sending them to my fellow locals who wasn't so lucky, especially New Orleans. God Bless and Go Bills!! 434185 God Bless you! Stay well and safe.

I listened to WWL 870 a couple of times after the storm. Wow. My wife and I sent good karma to all down on the delta.
DarthICE Posted September 9, 2005 Author Posted September 9, 2005 First off , Joey I am so glad to hear you and Elle are ok. I was really worried about you brother. Second, who changed the title of my post? Third, thanks to the admin and mods for allowing me to post this time. I knew this would be the one place Joey would look that is why I posted. Thanks again for allowing it to stay up until we heard from him, it is appreciated. Now folks, back to exile I go. God bless and best of luck to us Bills fans this year. 2005, the drive for five is back alive!
Fezmid Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Second, who changed the title of my post? I didn't change the title of your post, I simply merged it with Joey's post. I figured you'd find it ok Welcome back, even if it was only briefly. CW

Well, i know the world around you is depressing, but those games... damn... Well, yeah, just skip ahead to sunday like the rest of us. Glad to hear that you're alive and well though. A bills fan always perseveres, just like his team!
aussiew Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Damn it Joey - you had us so worried. So glad you're OK
stevestojan Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Great news... we were worried bro! Stay safe, and all you need to know about the last 2 preseason games is that the Bills are... well.... doomed. But football's not important. Great to hear your safe (alive), and the house is in one piece. Have a good one bro.
Art in PNS Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 I know I am not supposed to post here, but Joey is a good good friend of mine and a die hard Bills fan. I know almost all of you know him. He and his family are from down in the New Orleans area. He goes by fightforlsu most of the time.He is in my fantasy league and I haven't been able to get him via IM or Email and am very concerned for him and his family. Please do not delete this post. I would like to get some info on him if anyone has it. I won't bother the board again. Thanks for your help Brian (ICE) Randell 433778 Glad to see you are safe CBB. It is not pretty from what I have seen.
