Webster Guy Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Click where it says VIDEO on lower right corner Offensive coordinator Chris Palmer diagramming the Bills DEF on a white board.
AKC Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Best thing about the link is it illustrates that while the average football fan is busy obsessing about one position, on the team level equal attention is paid to all the opposing players since you don't get far as an organization if you buy into the fallacy that QB is the "most important" position in football.
Coach Tuesday Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 When you see something like that it just reinforces your amazement at how many playmakers the Bills have on D, and how far they've come from 2001 (remember Raion Hill?) - this is a championship D.
Mikie2times Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 What surprised me about the video was how basic the concepts are. Cover 2 and Cover 1, both basic high school football schemes. I'm sure the blitz packages and stunts get pretty complex but football is football no matter what the level. When you get players as talented as the NFL the difference is paper thin. A couple plays or players separate winning and losing, as big al said in Any Given Sunday, this is a game of inches.
buffalo mike Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Thanks- extremely interesting, good find. I remember in the 90's watching our defense was as much fun as watching the offense. Starting to feel the same way now.
coltrane34 Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 What Palmer can't recall players like Vincent, or Mcgee....They are in trouble
BRH Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Thanks- extremely interesting, good find. I remember in the 90's watching our defense was as much fun as watching the offense.
