IDBillzFan Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 It seems like for every highlight showing someone excelling in this sport, there is an equal and opposite highlight of someone getting their ass beat. What made me think of this was a game recently which featured an interview with Marino. They start showing the game against the Jets from years ago when the fish had the ball inside the ten, the clock was ticking, and Marino motioned as if to spike the ball to kill the clock. He of course makes the motion, the entire Jets defense just stands still, and then Marino pulls back and goes on to pull what was, to both his and my recollection, the first real fake spike that got pulled back and turned into six. At first, I thought, "Man, it must suck to be Jets fan and having to see that replay from time to time." Then I realized how much I hate seeing the "Pennington juking Eddie Robinson" highlight and realize all is fair in love and the NFL. I wonder: (1) Which highlight do you think sucks more? (I think the Marino highlight sucks more for the Jets because the whole team got beat, not just one player) (2) Does anyone else remember a particular oft-played highlight that shows not just one person excelling, but someone else getting their jockstrap snapped in place?

gantrules Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I also am sick of Kirk Gibsons WS homer. 432447 You and me both. Is it just me or does the announcer of that game say "The Tigers win!" instead of Dodgers
Thailog80 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Home run throwback/music city miracle 432450 I switch it as soon as it comes on.

Barry jukes left, cuts right, cuts left, cuts back to the right and the CB just falls to the ground.
Thailog80 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Seeing Tommy brady with his hands on his head with that I just pumped the neighbors cat look on his face.
col_forbin Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Buger King Man taking it in for a TD on Drew......That sh*t ain't right.

And I think they just showed that Barry Sanders highlight during a preseason primetime game. He made a lot of people look very bad.

stuckincincy Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 .He of course makes the motion, the entire Jets defense just stands still, and then Marino pulls back and goes on to pull what was, to both his and my recollection, the first real fake spike that got pulled back and turned into six. 432436 In his one-year tenure with the B'gals, Neil O'Donnell did just that. He was run out of town because he was very conservative, which was exactly what that sad-sack team needed. But I wouldn't expect anybody save a captive audience like me being able to recall B'gals high(low)lights. You'de be rolling on the floor in stitches If I recanted some of the things that took place in that 12 years of wandering in the desert...
MartyBall4Buffalo Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Dante Hall's kickoff return or maybe it was a punt against the bronocs 2 years ago. He catches the ball at the 10 gets forced back to the one jukes out the entire broncos coverage team on his way for a td.

Moulds block on Bruschi last year during the night game..

The next 999 WTF moments brought to you by Dante Hall ("Hey, it worked for Dante Hall, why not me?").
Beerball Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Wide Right 432446 In the crease still pisses me off along with wide right.
Beerball Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Does the Bronco 'chase' down the freeways count?
billsfanmiami(oh) Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 i hate that every time they talk about ricky williams they show him on that 60 something yard run during the snow game in buffalo.
