1billsfan Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 The more I think about it, the Bills really should go "No Huddle" offense with Losman mostly passing and bootlegging (few running plays) the first couple of series and here's why: Just to stay alive, Losman thrived in a frantic offensive pace over at Tulane Losman will not have any time to think too much, making him play on instinct If he turns the ball over there's at least three quarters to recover Everyone on the planet knows the Texans are going to key everyone on McGahee Make the Texans get out of the eight man in a box to open up the running game Capers will not expect it, capers will not expect it, capers will not expect it
smokinandjokin Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 first series against Texans, what the Bills should do. Score a touchdown
Mikie2times Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Bomb to Lee Evans... 432213 I expect a pre-designed bomb at some point in the first series. I'm guessing they run Willis on first, and then air it out to Lee for the second play.
stephenjames716 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 pretend like they are going to call a time out...and then snap it to Willis....run 80 yards for a TD... OH YEA!
drnykterstein Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I would say. Run, pass, run. Seems to be a solid time tested series, and a good way to set the tone for the season.
stuckincincy Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Line up Jason Peters in the backfield. That'll raise a few Texan eyebrows...
smokinandjokin Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Run, pass, run. 432248 Then punt?
ch19079 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 handoff to McGahee for 5 yards. handoff to McGahee for 3 yards. play action to evans for 8 yards. first down! ___________________________ Losman pass to moulds incomplete. handoff to McGahee for 4 yards. losman pass to (the slot WR). 7 yards. first down! ___________________________ handoff to McGahee 8 yards. Losman pass to evans incomplete. (pressure by blitzing OLB). false start on offense. (5 yard penalty). still 3rd down with 2 yards to go. incomplete pass to TE. 4th down. Punt. downed at the 5 yard line. ___________________________ the defense takes the field.
John from Riverside Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I totally agree.....go 999 and shock the &^(* out of them
Beerball Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Bomb to Lee Evans... 432213 Fleaflicker to Reed.
drnykterstein Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Line up Jason Peters in the backfield. That'll raise a few Texan eyebrows... 432249 !!!! We should try it, I wonder what kind of running back he would be. I hope thats on the menu of plays for this year.
BuckeyeBill Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I expect a pre-designed bomb at some point in the first series. I'm guessing they run Willis on first, and then air it out to Lee for the second play. 432243 I don't like that. If they run Willis first... I bet he only gets 3 yards... then a bomb, incomplete... it is 3rd and 7. Less than 50% chance of getting the first down from there. I think the first chance to get a first down in any game is important, but in the first game in the season, and the first for JP... I think it is a necessity. I say shotgun on the first play, and a short route to Moulds, Campbell, or even McGahee. Make it a high percentage passing play... punishing the Texans for thinking run. On 2nd and 5 run McGahee, leaving us with a 3rd and 1 possibly. Much higher percentage from there. But what do I know...
The_Real Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 No question give the ball to McGahee the first two plays. After that base your thirddown on positioning. Yet you have to start out pounding the ball. Everything that we hope to accomplish this year starts with the run. 1,800 and 18 touchdowns. t-r
Geo in Pa Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I'm predicting Willis will take a screen to the house - maybe not the 1st series - but somewhere in the 1st half.
KD in CA Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I expect a pre-designed bomb at some point in the first series. I'm guessing they run Willis on first, and then air it out to Lee for the second play. 432243 ...and then Losman gets sacked on 3d and 8?
Blue Chipper Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 get to the the Houson 30 then punt... no wait that was 2003.
