taterhill Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Guy that works for us has a son in the army...he brought home a few MRE's and I am trying it right now...not too bad
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I've eaten hundreds of them. Not bad, huh? LMAO...Civilians.
WillisMcThrillis Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Yeah they actually arent too bad at all. In fact, theyre pretty good if you boil the package too. Usually come with oreos or pudding as well.
VABills Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I eaten a few in my Marine days. They suck.
smokinandjokin Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Reminds me of the time we were hiking up the Puntang Valley in Nam....
IDBillzFan Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Reminds me of the time we were hiking up the Puntang Valley in Nam.... 430715 I'm told you can get lost in some of that Nam Puntang.
taterhill Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 the cheese spread looked like my sons diaper this morning
IDBillzFan Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 the cheese spread looked like my sons diaper this morning 430745 Inasmuch as this is your first child, are you amazed yet at exactly how much a baby can crap? I swear in his first few weeks on this earth, my son was crapping 10x what he was taking in.

Britbillsfan Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 So he has a future in journalism??? 430750 Nah, the ratio is five times for journos. Mind you he looks to have a long and fruitful career as a politician if he keeps up his output.
HopsGuy Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I've eaten hundreds of them. Not bad, huh? LMAO...Civilians. 430701 To this day, I MUST add Tobasco to my tuna casserole. It ain't the same without it.

Mind you he looks to have a long and fruitful career as a politician if he keeps up his output. 430763 With the amount of crap my son spews, he clearly will take over for the Mayor of NO once he is sent to prison.
Nanker Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 To this day, I MUST add Tobasco to my tuna casserole. It ain't the same without it. 430769 Thank God! For a moment there I thought you were going to say Pickle Juice - not Tobasco!
duey Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Yeah they actually arent too bad at all. In fact, theyre pretty good if you boil the package too. Usually come with oreos or pudding as well. 430703 Um...yuck. I'm not much for boiled oreos and pudding. And don't forget, how can you eat your pudding if you don't eat your meat?
GoodBye Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I've had four brothers who have been in the army so I've tasted a few of them. I think the crackers and cheese spread are nasty!
USMCBillsFan Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I've had a few in my time... as recently as last week. They aren't too bad now. They had the old C-Rats when I first came in and then switched to MRE's. The C-Rats weren't bad at all in my opinion but the new MRE's that replaced them sucked. Dehydrated pork patties and crap like that were horrible. Now they have been improved again and some of the menus aren't bad. I agree with the Tabasco sauce though. If you get a meal with that as a condiment, it's there for a reason...
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 To this day, I MUST add Tobasco to my tuna casserole. It ain't the same without it. 430769 Bleh. Never ate that one. I was the guy who always rushed to the drop-off point to grab all the spaghettis before anyone else could. The hot dogs were pretty good too.
stuckincincy Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Wornick, HeaterMeals etc. are major producers of MRE's here Cincinnati. We ARE farmers, after all. Some AM radio bands give the daily crop and livestock reports. http://www.ohioaginfo.com/info9.htm
smokinandjokin Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 What's an MRE? 430816 Melted Retatta Enchilada
