SDS Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I was wondering if a "Ladies Lounge" forum (tucked out of the way at the bottom of the Special Topics category would be of interest to you'inz. Oogling babes is a favorite past time here at TSW and perhaps it is time have a place dedicated to the finer gender... http://www.Finheaven.com has one on their boards and it seems to be well behaved. Standard rules of decorum would still apply. Please send your feedback via this thread or via PM if you choose a more private venue. Thanks.
The Poojer Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 i'd like to be in a more private venue with you....wait, i thought this was the pm...oh damn! pkwwjd Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I'm probably in the minority, but I would prefer no section like that ... I don't even shop at stores that have a "back room" no matter how descreet. There's more than enough information, and more than enough links, on the internet for people to find that stuff. I think that such a forum would cheapen TBD/TSW. I know some will respond by saying "don't go to that forum" ... but I am someone who has recovered from a pornography addiction and don't need any help going back down that road -- it's tough enough already.

Thanks. 425505 I'm not sure that it's necessary or wanted. There are tons of other places on the net to see/discuss that sort of thing. Besides, do you want to model yourself after a Dolphins board?! (where's the puke icon...?) I'd vote no. CW
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I think you know my opinion already. So long as there's gratuitous penguin nudity, I'm in.

I'm talking about having a place to put the threads that occur everyday on TSW and have since the day we opened. I'm not talking about changing any standards - just moving those threads off the main board.

Any move that takes non-football talk away from the wall would have my support.

So it is already being seen and discussed. It's just a matter of opening a new subforum for it.

eball Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I think that such a forum would cheapen TBD/TSW. 425513 cheapen it? it's FREE!
pkwwjd Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 cheapen it? it's FREE! 425540 yeah, i know, i get it

That said, I still don't think it needs a separate forum; it's only one thread every few days at most. We don't need to encourage everyone to post more CW
LabattBlue Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 SDS...I think this is a good idea. I know a lot of people are opposed to sub-forums, but I think the baseball forum has worked out okay, along with several other small forums. Like everything else, when changes are made, they take time to get used to. The main benefit of this is that people who are opposed to these types of posting, never have to see them on the main forum.
HopsGuy Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 How about a more encompassing "Chit-Chat" forum. Pop-culture stuff like the LOST thread and discussion of babes like the Ladies Lounge can go there. I'm NOT suggesting removing all OT thread from the main board. I like the sense of community we have there and from time to time we need OT posts that cover things like mortgages, gas prices and whatnot. Suggestion - When a thread is created, the author checks a "Chit-Chat" box. The thread starts on the main board. After an hour, it gets move to the Chit-Chat forum. It would probably take some tweaking to decide if an hour is too short or too long. This would get the LAMP type posts in front of everyone's eyes, but not clog up the forum for those that simply come here for Bills talk (whoever they are). Mods can decide if an OT post should get the extra "Chit-Chat" designation. Just my $0.02.
shoveldog Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Personally, I like the variety of the board as it is. If I have to search the entire forum for all the "specialty" issues like the LAMPS, Chick of the day, or off topics, I'd never look at them... and I enjoy most of them. If nobody is specifically offended by the occasional girly post... why change? That's my .02.
John from Riverside Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I am genuinely suprised at the amount of "no" votes from the guys.... Me....I am all for it.
col_forbin Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I think it is a good idea, but then you probably already knew that.....
Beerball Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 a babe of the day type thingy would be cool. 425538 Nice cover! Maybe the question should be to the ladies who grace the board. Would they prefer that all the rutting about was done away from the main board?
smokinandjokin Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Sign me up. Please include a sub-subforum for that skank Tara Reid.
