PromoTheRobot Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I moped my kitchen floor this morning. It really needed it. PTR
meazza Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 1.35 the litre this morning, * 4 is about 5.40$ a litre here wtf i can't afford to drive to work anymore
swede316 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Paying $1.20 a litre here in Australia....and been that way for a long time....4 litres is roughly a gallon so $4.80 a gallon. Gas has always been cheap in the U.S. ...only learning that now.
jester43 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 in carlisle pa they tacked 40cents/gallon to the price of premium in 2 days...up to 3.20gallon. i drive a mini, so i get great milage (YAY ) , but the damn thing takes premium gas (DOH ). i ALMOST didn't buy it for that reason (got it used), but i thought, "hey...what could go wrong??"
Tom Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I think that NJ & Oregon are the only states where you cannot pump your own (but I always do)....
jester43 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 i have wanted to buy one of those snazzy new vespas for awhile now...the only thing that has stopped me is that i commute on an interstate...those things are actually pretty sharp looking.
Just Jack Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Yep, I stopped by the dealership today and I'm eyeing up a used Pontiac Vibe. It's a six speed and was like driving a little MiniCooper but for a heck of a lot less. Gets 40 MPG. I think I'm gonna trade in the Dakota and get it....for 2.79 a gallon it's worth it, the car will be cheaper insurancewise and with heating costs going up and the long range folks predicting a cold winter I think it's the most practical decision. Sure, it's not as "manly" as an SUV but I've got my toy car when I need to have some fun. 425127 We've got the sister vehicle to the Pontiac, the Toyota Matrix and we lot. It's our primary vehicle now. My Ford Ranger hasn't been really driven since April, because my new job provides a vehicle. Our Matrix is the auto, we get between 30-35mpg, depending on how much highway driving we do.
Phlegm Alley Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Getting raped at the pump here in Westchester county--paying $3.39/gallon.
IowaBill Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Is this the same refinery that does not have to conform to all the emission controls as mainland US ? And pumps a lot of smoke in the Virgin air ? 424955 Not sure if youre sarcasm button is on, but................. the US Virgin Islands is a territory of the US and as such is subject to the same EPA and DOE regulations as the US mainland. I think the reason for the refinery's location is the easy access to Venezuala (closest US land to Venezuala) as well as easy access to US ports on the eastern seaboard.
swede316 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Get used to it...It's about what the rest of the world pays....That's why there isn't a huge turn in the stock market...You're about to come inline with the rest of the world...Simple economic facts.

ch19079 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 And we have some of the cheapest gas prices in the country. 425086 and when the price drops, your going to have the most expensive gas prices in the country. (for about a week).
runner Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Hey IowaBill- How did you end up in the VI? I'm a Hawkeye grad, as is my husband.
