boomerjamhead Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 NBF - Check out this nifty little feature.
Fan in San Diego Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 We get 600 miles on a 12 gallon tank... gas prices? No problem. 424851 What do you drive ?
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 So close on this one CTM. NBT uses a swab in the galley. 424863 I should have caught that. My bad.
JohnnyFairPlay001 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Just got back from filling up in Hamburg, 2.85 at Mobile, the guy said i just got there because at 9:00 he's gotta raise it to 3.02. I believe i just saved my self .17 cents on 20 gallons.
Fan in Chicago Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 None of you will probably want to hear this, I paid 2.19 a gallon this morning, premium is 2.24. This is on the island of St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. We are home to one of, if not the largest, refineries in the western hemisphere. It is a joint operation between Hess and the Venezualan national petroleum company. All the gas station operators here are independents, no Amoco, BP, Texaco, etc. They all get their gas stock directly from the refinery. It is my understanding that is a pretty unusual arrangement. There are only 55,000 people on the island, so I imagine it is doable because of how little gasoline the whole island uses. Still, people here B word about the price of gas constantly. I am not complaining about gas prices, I know how good I have it. 424623 Is this the same refinery that does not have to conform to all the emission controls as mainland US ? And pumps a lot of smoke in the Virgin air ?
Like A Mofo Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 What do you drive ? 424870 Horse and buggy maybe?
Just Jack Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Why do gas stations raise prices when the gas has been in their undergrounds tanks for weeks or months and their cost didnt just go up? They bought it at the cheaper price weeks ago ! 424841 They raise it in anticipation of having to pay a higher price for their next delivery. So it's a way of making sure they get the money now that they'll have to shell out later.
Tux of Borg Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Horse and buggy maybe? 424965 600miles/12gallons = 50mpg 50mpg... that's more than what I am getting. I can't B word cause i'm getting 40mpg (highway) right now.
VabeachBledsoefan Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I am SO glad I sold my Bravada and bought a Saturn. 424091 I traded my gas guzzling Ford Expedition and am very happy with my 2005 Ford Focus, big difference on milage. I'm so over my male ego and having a big SUV
MadBuffaloDisease Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I'm trading-in my Honda Pilot for a Toyota Prius. I'll get around 50 mpg with it, and it handled pretty well.
IBTG81 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 It would help if the NJ legislature changes the 1949 law against self-service gas stations. 424067 And we have some of the cheapest gas prices in the country.
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Are you legally able to pump your gas yourself in NJ... I recently heard that you couldn't and only an attendant could. I think in Illinois that kind of law was abolished in the 1970's?
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 It would help if the NJ legislature changes the 1949 law against self-service gas stations. 424067 You are sharp Cincy... Strike my above post!
Chilly Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 You are sharp Cincy... Strike my above post! 425106 I move that any comments that I make in mistake in the past, present, or future be striken from the record. (I wish life worked like congress!)
gmac17 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 nope, can't pump your own gas. dumbest thing in the world.

gantrules Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Yep, I stopped by the dealership today and I'm eyeing up a used Pontiac Vibe. It's a six speed and was like driving a little MiniCooper but for a heck of a lot less. Gets 40 MPG. I think I'm gonna trade in the Dakota and get it....for 2.79 a gallon it's worth it, the car will be cheaper insurancewise and with heating costs going up and the long range folks predicting a cold winter I think it's the most practical decision. Sure, it's not as "manly" as an SUV but I've got my toy car when I need to have some fun.
Kevbeau Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 god, poor moped if i got one . i would have to get two and put one under each cheak of my ass . 424837
