Pete Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 http://www.brain-terminal.com/video/brainwashing-101.html very interesting viewpoint- check it out!
Guest RabidBillsFanVT Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 http://www.brain-terminal.com/video/brainwashing-101.html very interesting viewpoint- check it out! 29473 THIS is an example of PC: West Virginia University would instruct incoming students and new faculty that they must "use language that is not gender specific...Instead of referring to anyone's romantic partner as ‘girlfriend' or ‘boyfriend,' use positive generic terms such as ‘friend', ‘lover,' or ‘partner.'" Until recently, WVU enforced "free speech zones" (in reality, "censorship zones") that comprised only one percent of the public campus. I'd say the other offenses are not just PC, they are an EMBARASSMENT to the college/university system in the United States. Their examples cites both public and PRIVATE schools, so now I say... I would like to know about the bans and restrictions placed on students at Oral Roberts, or Liberty, or Regent. I am sure they are equally offensive to the tastes of free peoples. Pat Tillman was an athiest... now quite impossible. Nice thought anyway! Very interesting stuff
Guest RabidBillsFanVT Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Affronts to freedom in the United States: Regent University Censorship of films Of course, I have to point out this article: Many examples of censorship by the fundamentalists... Harry Potter?!?! It goes BOTH WAYS... you have left wing wackos and their PC agenda, and you have right-wing wackos and their 'you can't do this, some books are EVIL' agenda. I would be remiss if I didn't give some examples from the other extremists!
Pete Posted September 13, 2004 Author Posted September 13, 2004 Did you watch the film? Book burnings, censorship and insisting creationism be taught are wrong. Big difference though then a student being expelled for their beleifs or a student receiving emails "he is gonna be shot in the fuggin face". Huge difference! College professors wield way too much power over impressionable teens. I was taking a class at Quinnipiac University a couple of years ago and the professor hated men. She made 30 or so references against men. She would spout these random statements such as "who watches porn-men" "who watches snuff films-men" "who are serial killers-men". After about the 30th antiman statement I said let me ask you some things. "who are kleptomaniacs-women" "what do all serial killers have in common-they had abusive mothers" "Snuff films are an urban legend and there has never been one seen"-I then said she had an obvious bias and I was gonna drop the class- I walked out then. BTW Pat Tillman might be an atheist I am not.
Alaska Darin Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Too many teachers have power complexes. My son was told by his college acting professor that he was going to be dropped from the class because he missed the first week. He had both called and been to her office BEFORE the semester start to explain why he would be out. The assistant apparently didn't relay the message. After finding out what his reason was and looking at his credentials (Cum Laude graduate, various acting endeavors, workshops, etc), she was nice enough to let him stay in the class he paid for with his own money. Academia is a pretty fugged up place.

gmac17 Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 I was a few years behind the guy who made this movie (uh oh, know everybody knows where I went to school....). I'm pretty sure he is the same guy who organized a "khakis day" to counter "jeans day" that was put on by the gay organization on campus. (Wear jeans if you support gay rights....of course people wore jeans every day anyway so it was sort of dumb...except there was definitely less jeans being worn on jeans day.....)
SilverNRed Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 The last ten minutes were hilarious, especially the re-dubbed "How to be Popular" video.
Alaska Darin Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Has everyone watched this video? I've always liked this kid and those on this board who accuse the right of the very behavior can now understand that this ain't an issue on only one side of the aisle.
Pete Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 Evan Coyne Maloney is the antithesis of Michael Moore. Hes intelligent, objective, likeable, articulate, nonmanipulative, credible, humorous, and compelling. This film is a short part of what is gonna be a feature film which will be released in 2005. Problem is he cant find a distributer. Hollywood doesnt like when nonleftist filmmakers try and make documentarys. Evan Coyne Maloney has enough quality stuff out where its only a matter of time before he gets into the mainstream. The internet is beautiful. 12 years ago Evan would be relegated to a street corner but with the net he gets his work out there. Like Darin asked- have you all watched this film yet?
SilverNRed Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 Like Darin asked- have you all watched this film yet? 31125 I think my first post in this thread made that clear but, again for the record, yes I watched it and yes I liked it quite a bit. I think everyone who hasn't should take the 45 minutes and check it out for themselves. I attend the University of Texas and it's a hotbed for this type of stuff. The school's newspaper, The Daily Texan, reads like the Democratic Underground and they routinely publish cartoons by Ted Rall (the guy who depicted Pat Tillman (after he died) as someone who just wanted to "kill Arabs" and even John Kerry as someone who just wanted to "kill gooks").
gmac17 Posted September 14, 2004 Posted September 14, 2004 He had to be smart if he went to Bucknell. Only brilliant people go there.
Pete Posted September 14, 2004 Author Posted September 14, 2004 Any liberals or Michael Moore fans watch this yet? I would love to hear you comment on it. Try and be openminded and get back to us

It's nice to hear NOTHING from the lefties now that one of their "institutions" has been exposed.

I'm sure that every 'propaganda film' made I'd feel the exact same way about.

It's actually a documentary. 31382 Well, if it is talked about as being the antithesis of Michael Moore, than that scares me as well about it! You know, people can make films however they want, or documentaries, or whatever you want to call them, but they just aren't my cup of tea; not anything like a good historical or scientific documentary. To each his own, I guess
