It is just a matter of seconds before they whip out the NO-Category 5 study... Oh wait, that plan was 86'd when the 70% slash in Corps budget became a reality. If the Corps maintains things down there the way they maintain up here... NO is in deep-do-do, literally. Both Fox and CNN have a dumb business approach of trying to be first with the "news" when accuracy would be the thing many want. Use your remote, cruise around and if you really care get involved and see for yourself. If one depends totally or even mostly on one media outlet or perspective you will have an inaccurate view of the world whether you watch Fox or CNN. Don't forget, the area within the protected area is saturated or filled with water... Making it difficult to spot boils or other trouble spots. I want to know why the pumps failed? You can try, I can try... GOD HOPE SOMEBODY TRIES!!!! I really don't want to spread ill will, even dish the crap about my employer... Yet, I can point out a lot of problems even with our local site that goes overlooked. They just sank well over 300k in security upgrades to a place that nobody knows is there (my field site) yet, the old rubber insulated 480 high voltage wiring (circa 1959) running through the place is well saturated with water. One thing is... It will get noticed when something blows. I really hope that NO district has its act together... And wasn't all consumed with the contracting/budgetary bug that has been going around civil works the last few years to let maintenance slide. We are becoming a nation of "project engineers."
