Yes, he might be better than Haddad, but unless he's willing to sign for the minimum, why pay anymore than that for a person who'll be the backup once Parrish returns. And even if you sign him for the same as, lets say Reed, you still get hit with any signing bonuse left on Reed's contract. You can't afford high paid backups and be successful.

 

 

The point I am making is that Edwards is a good slot receiver with good hands and quickness.  He is also elusive.  These are three charactistics that Josh Reed does not have.

 

The question to ask is Troy Edwards better then Drew Haddad, when you answer that question then you have your justification to sign or the reson not to sign him.

 

In any case the Texans are looking at Edwards.
