KnightRider Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Given that the strength of the Jags D is against the run, I find that 36 Rushes and 26 Passes very encouraging. There was no "We'll take what they'll give us" retoric. They pounded it and held an 8 minute time of posession advantage. Another encouraging thing is the 7-14 3rd down conversions. While obviously I'd have preferred a win like the one last year against the Jags, I feel much more optimistic about the prospects for the rest of the season. Leftwich impresses me. He took a pounding that would have rattled many QBs, but the bad stats don't tell how resilient he was. The D let up a little before the half and again in the last drive, and he took advantage of both opportunities.
