KD in CA Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Robertson is a loon. At least we on the right call a loon a loon, unlike the left. Where on the board is the left's condemning of Sheehan, Dean, Jessie Jackson, Farakan, MoveOn, et al? I think the difference is there are few if any 'Christian Right' types among the conservatives on this board, but I suspect there are at least a few Moveon.com readers among the liberals. Millions listening to Pat Robertson on one side and millions more listening to Michael Moore on the other. That's just sad.
philburger1 Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 This guy has the holy spirit in him, alright... Link 415189 He is just replying to comments from Castro's buddy, Chavez the prick: "Chavez called the United States the "most savage, cruel and murderous empire that has existed in the history of the world." The Venezuelan leader said "socialism is the only path," and told the students the collective goal is to "save a world threatened by the voracity of U.S. imperialism."
Mickey Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Did I say that? Look, I think Chavez is a grade-a-****. Would I like to see him gone? Yes. But I hardly think that we'd ever get away with it. So it'd be better not to do it. 415630 I didn't know what you were trying to say, hence the question. Do you think it is right to call for his assasination? A. Yes B. NO C. That depends (explain)

Chavez: "You're inferior to me and I don't like you." Robertson: "I'll kill you, mutha!@#$a."

I think most of the links to "moveon.com" on this board are provided by righties in "can you believe this?" types of posts.

I also don't think that Michael Moore has ever advocated assassination as a solution to any problem. In my view, that makes Robertson a hell of a lot more dangerous than MM. A better comparison might be Rush and MM since both are partisan mouthpieces. Although being a hypocritical drug addict probably gives Rush the edge.

MM began as a Ralph Nader type, taking on causes that help average Americans... Until Bush got in... then he became obsessed, but all his own doing and passion. Just MO.

Ghost of BiB Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Is there something in the water today? 415836 As opposed to any other day? I thank God and my lucky charms that no one here is involved in running the country.

blzrul Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 Im speaking more about Deb's critiscism and blanket statement that I am of Robertson. Robertson's a fool. 415626 Because you seem to have a personal issue with ME, you make everything about that issue. The religious right has been more than happy to claim Robertson for years. If they do not denounce his very unChristlike pronouncement then they are either fools, hypocrites or downright evil. Take your pick. Pick your nose if you must. Whatever.

chicot Posted August 23, 2005 Posted August 23, 2005 If Chavez was elected in a clean and honest election, then I'm Minnie Pearl. 415621 Are you basing that on anything other than your personal dislike of the man, Minnie? Can you point to a report by an unbiased source that suggests that any of his election victories were fixed? It's pretty indisputable that Chavez has substantial support among the poor in Venezuala (of which there are a great many). He doesn't need to fix elections.
blzrul Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 You dish it out all the time Ms. Margaret Hamilton. You just cant take it, wimp. 416009 Ah but I wasn't dishing anything out to anyone. merely commenting that Robert's comment reflected poorly on the Christian right and that they should be outraged at the idea of him condoning murder. That you defend Robertson's ill-advised and inflammatory comment, which was denounced by the White House, says a lot. In other words murder is just A-OK if the person is deemed to be a bad person. Who's the judge? A perfect being like you and your fellow bigot-in-arms? Ah well the scales may yet fall from your eyes. Not as fast as the hair from your head, perhaps, but perhaps fall it will. I'll pray for you.

How you go into these tangents is beyond me, “murder is just A-OK”. When you get off your Jefferson Starship, and want to to talk about things seriously, please give me a call. Here’s my number. 1-800- Go- !@#$-your-self.. Night, Night.
