Crap Throwing Monkey Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 It was in the low 60s at game time , so it wasn't the heat. They were in a prayer circle in the locker room and he just keeled over dead. Maybe it was an anuryism? You can drop dead from that. 414012 Would have shown up in autopsy, presuming they did a complete one.
Ramius Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 You can die of heatstroke at those temps, regarless of what people think. yes its rare, but its possible that his core temp got high enough from the exertion and he couldnt cool down quick enough. I'm not saying its likely, but even at low temps, heat stroke is possible...
lawnboy1977 Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 What is aggravating me is that every sportswrite is now saying how the NFL is not safe. Think maybe they should wait until the autopsy comes out before they make an assumption about his death being football related?
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 Coroner's report is out. Apparently Herrion died of a heart attack. A "blockage in the right coronary artery causing the death of the heart muscle".

Crap Throwing Monkey Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Interesting. Kinda surprised they couldn't tell that from the preliminary look. 431089 Apparently it was an odd case in that the blood work didn't show any related enzymes. Odd, but medicine isn't an exact science, contrary to popular belief.

Formerly Allan in MD Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 The reports are that Herrion had significant heart problems, which obviously didn't appear overnight. He was apparently not on drugs or steroids. Hope the rest of the NFL has better screening/physical exams than the 49ers have.
Dan Gross Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Interesting. Kinda surprised they couldn't tell that from the preliminary look. 431089 Well, they may have had that cause pencilled in initially until the tox results came back...
