eball
Can you say Marv Levy? Remember him? HOF coach, 4 straight SBs. He never played his starters more than a quarter during preseason. PROTECT the starters for when the games count. Dungy was smart. I think MM is showing too much in preseason, might give other teams plenty of tape. 413025 your point is well taken, steven, but there's another angle here. apparently the bills want to run so many of their exotic blitz schemes in the preseason that they will overload houston when it comes time to prepare for the first game. we'll have to wait and see how that plays out, but at least there is some logic to it. Kelly the Dog
honestly, kelly, i'd B word about the coaching staff not preparing for it. that's what i'd be doing if i was a green bay fan and read these articles. 413109 Hard to say. We're a bitchin' group, and there are thousands of us, so whenever there are bitchin' opportunities the bitchers come out of the woodwork and B word B word B word. It just may be different ones each time. I believe that the Bills and Browns had an agreement between the two teams that there would not be any blitzing in seasons past. It wasn't a secret. Perhaps the Packers thought it would be the same thing. I don't blame the Bills for doing it, and again, the Packers probably benefitted in some ways by having to deal with it. But I do think it was a surprise even to me that we did it so much in the scrimmage. I guess me and the Packers should have known something was afoot when we ran a reverse on the first offensive play. Not quite so much a surprise when we did it against the Colts, however, and I think it's a good strategy to tell the rest of the league we are going to do this and dictate the game to you and you can't stop us.
