Catholic Guilt
After reading about the Wiley thread it got me thinking. I can't remember any former Bills who left via free agency who have done better with a new team. Some examples: Nate Odomes - Leaves for Seattle, plays maybe 3 games gets injured and retires. Peerless Price - Invisible in Atlanta Marcelius Wiley - San Diego, Dallas and now Jacksonville Cornelius Bennet - Atlanta and Indy no more gas in the tank Who am I missing? Dan Gross
Big Ted did pretty well, though performance-wise it's hard to argue he did "better." Antowain did well enough as starting RB to help win two rings...though he was still average as a back.

Note also it's mostly our defensive standouts who we part with. Ted Washington is the only one off the top of my head who has found more success after his Bills days. Reuben Gant
Daryll Lamonica and Ahmad Rashad did pretty well, but I think those were trades, not FA. Moses Malone did pretty well too.

bflo83
Bryce Paup - bust in Jacksonville Shane Conlan - good player for bad Rams teams until injuries got to him Will Wolford - Good player for Pittsburgh o-line Bruce - finally got to 200 sacks with the Deadskins Andre - one really forgettable year with Washington Thurman - same as Andre but with the Fish House Ballard - average career with Seattle

plenzmd1
You know who did pretty good was Martin Mayhew. Nothing spectacular, just a nice solid career with the Skins. He was also a Plan B guy, before full blown free agency
bflo83
Sam Cowart -- hasn't done much, landed with the Vikes and Cottrell again Darryl Talley - one year in Atl; one year in Minnesota if I'm not mistaken/ second string Thomas Smith - don't remember Jeff Burris - four years with the Colts and two with the Bengals/nothing spectacular Henry Jones - I think one year in Atlanta with Wade and then gone. I hate to admit that Gregg-o may have been right about Henry, still a crap way they cut him. Which reminds me: Steve Christie - still going strong and I would rather have him then any of the kickers we've had since. Hard to argue with many of these, though most gave us good years. Note also it's mostly our defensive standouts who we part with. bflo83
Parker and Ziegler went to a Super Bowl with the Giants...can't remember the exact circumstances of their departure... 409120[/snapback] They cut Parker and he went KC before ending up with the Giants. In hindsight they never should have let him go. I think Ziegler was a UFA.
Catholic Guilt
Don Beebe did win a Super Bowl with Green Bay, head to Carolina and then retire. I don't know if he had the same success. Good call on Christie.
