Corp000085 Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 On Saturday, I was at a waterpark and jumped off of a 25 ft. tall high jump. Landed funny, and got water in my ear. It went in deep cause it hurt my ear, head, and jaw. I put some ear wax loosener drops in, and by saturday night, the pain was gone... Both yesterday and today, with today being slightly worse than yesterday, outside noise seems muffled, like the water is still in there. I can hear myself cough/talk/chew/etc. perfectly fine, but outside noise is just muffled a bit. I've never had water in my ear this deep before, so i'm wondering if this is normal... Will the water eventually go out, or do i need to have a doctor suck it out somehow? I'm holding off till wednesday on this before i go in to have it checked out. Thanks guys and gals!
VABills Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 I hear you can take an awl, put it in there and swish it around. If it gets hung up just push a little harder. I can ensure that you will not worry about water on your ear again.

IDBillzFan Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Water in the ear. Is that anything like mud in your tires?

boomerjamhead Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Well at least you don't have a problem with water in your ears. Damn, you want me to solve all your problems? 401986 Remember that time when you had pickle juice in your ear? Man you pissed off for a few days...
TigerJ Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Unless there is wax in your ear, any water that enters your outside ear will simply run out when you tip your head. Since you're still having symptoms, particularly with your hearing, I would suspect you damaged your eardrum whin you hit the water. I suggest going to the doctor and having it looked at. Eardrums may heal spontaneously over time, but it's no guarantee.

It's not hurting at all anymore, so i'll give it a couple days to see what happens, then go to the doctor. thanks!
VABills Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Remember that time when you had pickle juice in your ear? Man you pissed off for a few days... 401997 Man you pissed off for few days. New English????? No, that never happened. You must have yourself confused with NBF. Also, it was super corrossive nerve agent that you loaded on harm to be launched off a drone either.
EnderWiggin Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Before you go to a doctor, you can go to a drug store and buy a solution of ear drops that helps remove water from you ear. The drops are basically an alcohol solution that displaces the water. The alcohol solution will evaporate quickly after the water is removed. The ear drops are specifically for water in your ear. It might be hard to find but just keep looking in the ear care aisle.

I had a colonoscopy a few months ago, and the purgative, non-prescription, was kept there (only three bucks for what I now consider the most effective OTC medication I've ever had. ).
