OnTheRocks Posted August 8, 2005 Posted August 8, 2005 Netanyahu Resigns I understand why he would resign but it seems to me he loses any or all influence he might have still had by stepping down.

It will probably force a showdown over leadership of the Likkud.

A lot of Israelis are pretty unhappy with the pullouts. Posturing and positioning.

OnTheRocks Posted August 11, 2005 Author Posted August 11, 2005 how much more bloodshed will occur by pulling out and then going back in. this will be a mess.
UConn James Posted August 13, 2005 Posted August 13, 2005 I was usually impressed with Netanyahu when he was PM. He was a no-nonsense, it's-got -to-be-like-this leader. If the best course was the status quo, that's what he did. No huff and bravado, then following thru on an idiot plan just to be able to say you're doing something like Sharon has done. If they pull out of Gaza, that gov't is going to be under attack from both sides, Palestinians who'll want ever more, more, more and average Israelis pissed at the concessions.
