MadBuffaloDisease Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 It looked like from the scrimmage that the TE's will be used extensively. It was good to see Campbell back, playing well, and being able to absorb a hit. But I noticed his lack of speed and all I'm left wondering is what could have been had Everett be healthy!
MartyBall4Buffalo Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 I was very excited when we drafted kevin everett for the speed factor. I was of the belief he could've been an antonio gates type weapon for us eventually. He was raw, but he had/has tremendous potential. Mark Campbell runs like he's wearing cement shoes. While he might make a good redzone target, and he's a decent run blocker, he'll never be a valuable weapon in the passing game. Tim Euhus brings more speed than Campbell so I'm hoping he beats out campbell for the #1 te spot in preseason. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery by Everett, although it's unlikely to happen.
UHSLA Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 Don't count out Neufeld - he looked good during the scrimmage as well. I definitely think we're good at TE. I think Cieslak proved himself worthy of a PS spot, but Trafford is probably the odd man out once again.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted August 7, 2005 Author Posted August 7, 2005 Neufeld to date has been more of a practice warrior. I'm not holding my breath on him, so Euhus will have to be the great white hope.
silvermike Posted August 7, 2005 Posted August 7, 2005 I don't think Campbell and Euhus are going to shake out to be anything besides 1 and 1a - after all, they have different skill sets and will be in during different game situations.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted August 7, 2005 Author Posted August 7, 2005 Why does it seem so difficult to find a decent TE? As I've said before, quoting an NFL personnel guy: "because they're all playing power forward in the NBA."
