Corp000085 Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/TV/08/03/t...w.ap/index.html too bad, as this was a GREAT show on a GREAT run. The good i'm taking from this is we never got to see it fall to its inevitable comedy central pathetic low.
MadBuffaloDisease Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Didn't he get paid something like $60M? That's a large chunk of change to have to return, if not pay on top for breach of contract.

If so, that's sad - I'd rather have all my limbs cut off than lose mental clarity and touch with the world.

He'll probably keep a massive chunk of cash.
EZC-Boston Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Not sure he collected that sixty mill as he never did anything for it...
duey Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Now that's a real shame. One of the best shows on television (after LOST of course).
ch19079 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 this just killed my day. i hope they eventually release the video already shot for season 3. you have to think, that since it got SO big, that it had to be difficult and stressfull to try and keep it at that level.
ch19079 Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 See also: Williams, Ricky 397443[/snapback] im sure the contract is alittle diffrent for football players vs. tv stars. Dave wont be paying back any signing bonus.

If the network paid him for shows he did not do I really don't see them allowing him to skate off into the sunset with their cash - they'll be asking for it back and threatening legal action just like the Fins did with Ricky.
taterhill Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 while Dave Chappelle was a huge part of the show...I hope Darkness & Ashy Larry and the rest of the boys still work together to do some sort of comedy...
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 "I'm steppin' on yo couch, n--ger!" Long live Dave Chapelle.
taterhill Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 he is being haunted by the ghost of the SUper Freak....
Gavin in Va Beach Posted August 4, 2005 Posted August 4, 2005 This sounds like a possible publicity stunt. It'll make the show's return a big event.
