LabattBlue Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 "If we're such a great defense, we got to stop them," Schobel said. "You beat them all day like that ... maybe this will make us stronger but, damn, this was our time to stop them."
Realist Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 "If we're such a great defense, we got to stop them," Schobel said. "You beat them all day like that ... maybe this will make us stronger but, damn, this was our time to stop them." 28045[/snapback] Thats exactly right. It doesn't matter that the O only scored 10. There is no excuse for the D not stopping them on the final drive.
Mark Vader Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 This entire team has to make a gut-check next week. The Raiders played poorly against the Steelers today, and the Bills have the ability to go out to Oakland and stomp all over them. They need to find the fire to do it. The offense must go on attack mode, if they do that then the Raiders D will fold. If they go conservative, the Raiders will handle them. We need Bledsoe to go deep more.
ajzepp Posted September 13, 2004 Posted September 13, 2004 Exactly right.....no matter WHAT happened in the prior 58 minutes, when you have the lead and the outcome of the game rests on YOUR shoulders, you need to step up, make plays, and win the game. That didn't happen, and I admire Schobel for recognizing it and not making excuses. That gives me more confidence that they'll lay some lumber next Sunday in Oakland.
