Rubes Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 You need to move somewhere that pays more then. CW 396515 For me, it's mostly due to specialty and place of employment. But you're right.
BADOLBILZ Posted August 2, 2005 Posted August 2, 2005 Depends on your specialty, what kind of practice, and which area of the country. Where I'm at he's pretty much spot on for a sizable proportion of practitioners. 396511 Our family GP makes $250K/year in Steuben County, WNY. He's 35 years old, so it's not about seniority or the like. I've got a sister-in-law who hands out advil samples to doctors for more than 100K/year and a brother-in-law who is a medical asss-probe salesman who makes six figures as well. Point is, I don't know where you would get a GP for less, especially when you consider the relatively low cost of living out here.
djh Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 that's 20 million a year. Lakers offered 22 mil x 5 years $107 mil, he demanded 30 million. Shaq is too dumb to add.

Private practitioners with a heavy practice load can pull in a huge salary, although it's much more (in general) for subspecialists than for GPs. Salaries out east are also generally much better than those here in the west (except perhaps the west coast, although I don't know for sure). As for me, I picked the lowest-paying specialty, in an academic center, in the west. That's one hell of a combination.

stuckincincy Posted August 3, 2005 Posted August 3, 2005 Lil' early aint it? 397368 Late, I should think. I'm sorry BF didn't take you up on your offer of attack victim in the baseball-pickle juice thread. That would have been a humorous addition. I tried to PM BF to induce him to come back, but seems he's gone forever. Too bad; his posts certainly sparked interest. I hope he didn't take the gas pipe.
