Pete
Not sure what you are looking for but how about Blair Thomas, Browning Nagle, Scott Frost, Alex Van Dyke, Ryan Yarbourogh
udonkey
" I couldn't care less about the team struggling. What we know is we can improve. Chad Pennington, our quarterback, missed the first part of the season, and we struggled. We're looking to next season, we're looking to make a noise now and ... I wanna kiss you!" Greybeard
Do a web search for the Jet's #1 pick for the last 15 years. They almost all fit. I think the comment about the Jets not understanding what the draft was all about came when they drafted Lageman(sp?).
My Friends Call Me Tebucky
Kyle Brady took an especially large amount of abuse on draft day...
Albany,n.y.
They had Brett Favre rated as the best player in the entire draft, but had spent their # 1 on Rob Moore in the supplemental- draft. They tried trading up but nobody would trade with them. Atlanta picked Favre 1 pick before the Jets and they settled for Browning Nagle. The guy who had rated Favre so highly then took the GM job in Green Bay & traded for Favre the next year.
KD in CA
showed on draft day? I need this for a new feature coming up. Thanks. 388954[/snapback] http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/NYJ http://www.recordonline.com/archive/2003/04/26/wittlist.htm The five worst Jets first-round draft picks 1. Blair Thomas, running back (1990): The poster child for bad Penn State pro backs. 2. Johnny Mitchell, tight end (1992): Replaced by Kyle Brady, after starting two seasons. His 1999 training camp comeback lasted one day. 3. Mike Haight, guard (1986): Took three years to start, two more to lose it. 4. Roger Vick, fullback (1987): How do you take a fullback in the first round? 5. Russell Carter, cornerback (1984): Who? Exactly. And that was with the 10th overall pick. BRH
The Jets picked Texas WR Johnny "Lam" Jones with the SECOND overall pick in the 1980 draft. One pick later, the Bengals took Anthony Munoz. And with the 18th pick, the Redskins took the next available WR: Art Monk. Anyone wondering why the Bengals went to two SBs, the Redskins three, and the Jets none in the next decade or so, look no further.
