CircleTheWagons Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 Wow, what a game. I remember why I hate offseason. 2 points where I question the coaches, with 20-20 hindsight: Why was NC in single coverage with their best receiver on 4 and 14? Seems to me there should have been safety help on that play. What the hell was that lateral to Moulds call? I'm sure Clements/Mularkey thought they set it up with the previous draw to Henry, but everyone knew they were using the draw to set up the play to Moulds - it was just TOO obvious. Two options on that play for the defense - cover Henry on the draw and watch Moulds. Once Drew turned right, the defense was all over that play. Someone mentioned that we were going to hate Mularkey's trick plays, I'm starting to see why. Other than those 2 plays, I thought it was a well coached game, with a few killer penalties on both sides. I'm glad it's a long season. A big win next week and we're back on track.
jarthur31 Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 You forgot about the fumbles in the red zone. And 3 defenders whiffing on that TD at the end. All of them had a chance to knock it down but didn't!

I thought it was pretty good except for the couple of instances I mentioned.
Drifter Posted September 12, 2004 Posted September 12, 2004 Overall it was a good game. Mistakes are the difference between winning and losingthough. Moulds' fumble in the red zone, holding on a run that would have just about iced the game, or either of the 4th down plays. Correct any one of those plays and the game is won. With time the team will lessen the mistakes and will be dangerous. Sorry to be rational on a game day loss, but this doom and gloom crap has to stop.
