I found these while checking out Fox's Football site...Some insight into what this writer thinks the Bills might doing...(Not agreeing here - just passing along)

6. Kelly Holcomb finishes the season as the Bills quarterback.

Honestly, we're starting to feel bad for dumping on J.P. Losman. He's impressed teammates with his work ethic this off-season, and obviously the coaching staff believes in him. He's very talented, but there is a combination of factors working against Losman making it all 16 games. His scrambling style of play and the poor offensive line in Buffalo could result in a ragged first year.

The Bills haven't made the playoffs this century and are desperate to please their incredible fans. With a very tough schedule in the second half, Holcomb may be Buffalo's best chance to win, even if Losman is healthy.

7. Travis Henry leads an AFC South team in rushing.

Perhaps this isn't that bold. But considering we grabbed Henry with the 119th pick in our latest "Expert's" Draft, not many owners project a trade yet. As a Henry owner, I'd rather see him end up in Jacksonville if Fred Taylor's status deteriorates. It's more likely, however, that Henry ends up in Tennessee. The Titans offered a fourth round pick; the Bills want a third-rounder. Chris Brown is an injury waiting to happen and Tennessee's current backup is … Damien Nash? Henry also has a similar workmanlike style to Eddie George. That appears to agree with Jeff Fisher more than Brown's boom-or-bust style. Look for Henry to get dealt and make an impact.

I agree on the Henry comment.

As for Holcombe, it would not surprise me to see him start a game or two due to an injury to Losman, since JP does a lot of scrambling and that tends to lead to injuries. However, I dont think he'll ever PLAY his way into the starting lineup. This team is dedicated to JP and will stick with him as long as he's healthy.

These guys suck.  Like Rod Woodson.

I sure am glad everyone around here knows more about football then the peoples whose job it is. You know when you hear something once or twice you can dismiss it. Hear it 5 or 6 times maybe it's tme to pay attention. But when everyone and their brother says it, maybe there might be something to the rumors.

Hey - Where in Malta are you? Henry's fumbling in Mechanicville/Stillwater...

I think everybody knows JP will struggle. What I think many of these pundits are missing is that Bledsoe sucked last year about as badly as a QB can suck. The Bills D, special teams, and running game (say what you will about the Oline's pass protection, they run block well) will take pressure off JP. Will JP be as bad as Bledsoe? I'd say probably yes (I can live with those mistakes with a young QB, I can't with a 10 year vet making them). His struggles will most likely put the team around the .500 mark for the season. I don't foresee the special teams having another year like they had last year, 5 returns for TDs is asking an awful lot.

These predictions from the "experts" for 4-5 wins all because of JP's growing pains are pretty outlandish Imo, particularly when these same guys predict a team like the Ravens to compete for a playoff spot when their situation is similar to ours. There isn’t a worse starting QB in the league than Boller.

First of all, your screen name is simply great.

Virtually every poster here thinks that JP will be a huge improvement to Drew the second he takes the field. I think that the kid is working hard and I am thrilled by this, BUT; I am thinking that the odds of him being a good NFL QB and sucking are about 50/50, and worse in his first year as a starter.

Thus, I am not at all alarmed by the prediction. It was truly not so bold.

As for Henry, I have watched him since his first game. Anybody can look at ONLY the rushing stats of 02 and 03 and predict how great TH will be. I have gone out on a limb many times and said that he is a bad football player.

Here is a far more daring prediction than you cite: Travis Henry is a suckass football player and his days in the NFL are numbered. I truly hope that TD IS able to salvage a pick before he cuts this dumbass.

Any way, good post, and again, GREAT screen name. :)

I know, what are people thinking looting at rushing stats for a RB. :)

I agree with you to a point, the guy is not a complete player, but your outright hatred is irrational. The guy is a solid RB, not great, but solid. The guy must have slept with your 15 year old sister or something, because that's the only thing that makes your opinion of him make any sense.

what many experts seem to vastly overlook is our great D and ST...yes, Losman is essentially a rookie QB, and yes he will go thru his growing pains, and will most likely cost us a game or 2 all by himself with some rookie mistakes...but unlike most other rookies, hes had a year ot learn the system, and 2, hes got a great supporting cast...

someone said it great in another thread...JP is in a similar situation to roethlisberger last year, as in we are not asking him to win and/or save the franchise...just to play halfway decent...JP isnt gonna win us 15 games this year, but he sure as hell wont lose us 12 either...

First of all, I would love it if you could refrain from making any references in any way to my family. Thank you very much.

I watch football and see what I see. Although willing to state my case, I never claimed that my knowledge of football is greater than yours. We of course will not always agree, for instance:

>>>>There isn’t a worse starting QB in the league than Boller.<<<<

You state the above as fact, but has JP played a full NFL game yet? Does he have a good LT? My point is that JP is, imo, an unknown commodity. I am hoping for greatness, but it is just that....hope.

I am able to express differences without getting personal. Really, I could talk football (Bills) with you all day!

I am hoping that you can afford me the same courtesy. OK? :)

you and i have debated this before, so i won't rehash. you may be surprised that i actually agree with you that the writer did not make a bold prediction with respect to losman's struggles. virtually every media member has predicted the same thing. the writer didn't question losman's talent or work ethic, however. he cited style of play and a poor OL as the basis for his prediction.

moreso, i take issue with the writer's assumption that the bills' OL will be "poor." there is ONE question mark on the OL -- the LT. the C, RG, and RT are returning starters who played pretty well. everyone agrees the new LG is an upgrade. this is the OL's 2nd year under mcnally's tutelage, and they won't be asked to do as much this year (no statue to protect). i think it's a stretch to predict that they will be "poor."

Good post, and I hope you are right wrt the OL. Imo, much depends on Tucker, who we need for his versatility. Even more depends on the health of CV. Big Mike did not play nearly as well when CV was injured. CV can flat out play!

I have high hopes for our new RG, and imo LT is a crapshoot wrt Gandy.

My bottom line stance is that IF the OL stays relatively healthy, McNally is a great coach who will have some options, but at this point, I am not feeling good about the LT slot.

Yes, creating a fictitious 15-year old sister is a terrible thing to do. I should be ashamed of myself. Only people looking to take offense at something would take offense at that.

Like all these pundits watched every Bills game in '04 because the Bills were nationally broadcast all the time. Most of them saw the weekly highlight reel, if that. Believe me, the average BB fan knows more about Bledsoe's problems at QB than 90% of the pundits.
