In 2 days it will be 2 years since the passing of one of my all time favorites, Gordon Lightfoot. While he is no longer with us, as the song says, the legend lives on. Sunday afternoon I had the privilege of listening to The Lightfoot Band for over 2 hours at the Theatre at Innovation Square. This is not a tribute band. Outside of the lead singer, the band consists entirely of old band members. Lead guitarist Carter Lancaster, who started playing with Gordon in 2011, is the newest member of the band. Rick Haynes, Barry Keane, and Mike Heffernan all played with him for over 40 years. Andy Mauck, who takes on the roll of Gordon, sounds eerily like him. They will be playing in several locations throughout Ontario starting in mid August. If you're a Gordon Lightfoot fan you should check out a show if you get the chance. You won't be disappointed.
