By almost every objective measure, he’s been (as expected) a complete failure. The world is laughing at him, and his approval rating is even lower than Biden, who was basically Bernie being propped up for the weekend. 
 

Nice work on the border and immigration (minus the one “oopsie”). Outside of that, most of his base is in a worse position today than they were under one of the worst presidents of all time. He had such a low bar. And yet his tubby ass couldn’t step over it.

“ABC, NBC and CBS slap Trump with 92% negative coverage as 100th day of second term approaches, study finds.”

92.2 percent negative, to be exact.

 

If I’m doing my internet math correctly, today is the 99th day since Trump took office for his second term as President. The magic Day 100 will occur on Wednesday.

 

Here’s the part of the media study that I find most amazing. Fox News adds from the study’s authors,

 

Eight years ago, using the identical methodology, we found Trump was blasted with 89% negative coverage at the hands of these networks during the first weeks of his first term.

 

As we hit Day 100, legacy media are desperate to declare Trump 2.0 to already be a failure. But as I go about my day-to-day life, I just don’t see it. Perhaps my optimism arises from seeing the first signs of spring finally arriving here at the 45th Parallel.

 

Or, perhaps, because the stock market (S&P 500 index) managed to eke out a gain at the close of trading. The market has moved steadily upward for the past week straight and is up over 8 percent for the past twelve months.

 

But, then again, I woke up this morning to the sound of birds chirping.

The WSJ has been the best source of objective coverage and analysis since the start of Trump 2.0. Their editorial on the 2nd First 100 Days nails it:

 

The White House motto seems to be that if something is worth doing, it’s worth doing too much.

That’s especially true on tariffs, which could sink his Presidency. Mr. Trump was elected to control inflation and raise real incomes, but tariffs do the opposite. They guarantee at least a one-time increase in prices on imported goods that will flow through the economy. They portend shortages for consumers, and for businesses that source goods and components from abroad.

The tariffs are the largest economic policy shock since Richard Nixon blew up Bretton Woods in 1971, which unleashed inflation that Nixon tried to stop with wage and price controls and a tariff. The economic consequences arguably doomed Nixon’s second term, perhaps as much as Watergate.

Well, it's from a pollster I've never heard of ... but the only difference between the results here and other recent polls is that they asked the question more directly. See the recent results from respected pollsters that show a clear majority concerned about Trump disobeying court orders, etc.

CNBC has Commerce Secretary and Tariff Maven Howard Buttlick on now and he's being interviewed in front of the TSMC chip factory in Phoenix.

The factory started under Biden's CHIPS Act.

They are now trying to take credit for Biden's economic accomplishments. That's where we are.
