Was a clear move to make - they will likely bring in a lot of the FA guys right now (Chark, Moore, maybe Cooper again) to fill out that spot for camp.

 

They know they have 4 WR spots taken:

Coleman

Shakir

Palmer

Samuel

 

Could use 1-2 more options.  If that's Moore and then one of the young guys (Shavers/Virgil), I think they will go into the year and see where they are after a few weeks getting to the trade deadline

See to me 54% is not primarily a slot. Khalil Shakir at 70% slot snaps is primarily slot IMO. 50/50 means moves around in my world. People see Moore's size and assume he is a slot.

Lol, this is kind of me. I like the player a lot. I wanted him when we drafted. He is more like Diggs as a player and kind of a slot guy. He’s a good route runner which is a skillset that we can use. He doesn’t check the vertical box that is like but certainly improves the WR room.

I just don't see a route to solve the vertical passing game at this point of the NFL calendar. So having at least another legit WR on the roster would be more good than bad in that context.

Just seeing Shenault on there is disturbing. The guy has a grand total of 42 catches over the last 3 years combined and a YPC of 8.8. The Bills are already the 5th team of his career. He is terrible

He is a slot but he isn't Khalil who can only play slot. His route tree outside is more limited but he gives you something there at least.

he was brought here to compete for KR / PR, which he is pretty good at.

Palmer is an X.  Coleman can play outside or slot, so can Samuel

Moore is better wr than any one available on day 3 and most of the guys on day 2 in this draft.  Wr class was weak why reach for one?  Guys who were late day 3 went early day 3.  Anias Smith and Keandre Lambert Smith to name a few.

The only reason he's visiting Buffalo is that the Browns threatened to make him the groundskeeper.  Baker left some big shoes to fill. 🙁

I don't know.  Seems like JAG to me - speedy little guy with a potentially bad attitude.  He was picked slightly higher than Hamler, but they are pretty similar -- they are both very fast slots, and, admittedly, Moore is somewhat more accomplished in college (and meaningfully more in the pros).    But the league valued them closely not long ago, and Hamler has put his ego on the shelf and put in two years of work to earn his way on to our team.  Personally, if we feel compelled to dumpster dive for a WR, I would rather have Keenan Allen, forget the fantasy of 4.35 speed (for now), and move the chains with a proven pro like Allen.  See below:

He played the slot alot for the Browns. Watch his rookie year the Jets. He has speed, gets open, and has soft hands. He looks much better than the gadget guys we have tried.
