Mat68 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Literally were telling Sal they were going to ask Beane why he undervalues wr compared to the league. Beane traded a slew of picks for Diggs. Traded day 2 picks for Benjamin and Copper. Drafted a Wr last season at 33. Signed arguably the top wr in FA. 2 of his best draft hits were on Davis and Shakir. I think wr is comparable to every other position on the roster. Edited 8 hours ago by Mat68 10 2 2 Quote
Slippery Rubber Mats Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I think this WR group is going to be good. I agree with Beane on this 9 Quote
Southern Bills Fan Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I usually agree with Beane but other teams keep bolstering their receiving corps and we keep ignoring it and trying to put band-aids on the issue. At some point it's not fair to Josh to keep expecting him to cover up for everything. 10 6 1 Quote

JESSEFEFFER Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Beane came at them with a "it sounds like 2018 again" meaning the criticism for taking Josh Allen. He was probably waiting on hold listening to Sal's segment and missed the conversations earlier this morning about what an improved defense could mean for the upcoming season. Seemed to suggest that the criticism is coming from fantasy football perspectives. Says he does not value WR less than the rest of the league. 1 Quote

He is prickly about the WR/draft conversation. Interesting interaction and not the usual Beane interview. I would be too . Haven’t listened yet but the Buffalo media asked nothing but size questions on DT after Day 2 of the draft and pretty much did the same thing to TJ Sanders in his media availability asking him what his weight was and how much he thinks he can gain. Beane actually mentioned this at the Day 3 presser about DT than he gets hammered about not taking a WR earlier in the draft which I think we all wanted but it’s clear that myself and a lot of other people were off on Jalen Royals round projection etc. It’s clear that the Bills valued Deone Walker more than staying put and getting a WR at 132 and whoever the best 1T/DT was at pick 169 if they hadn’t traded up. 1 Quote

I agree with Beane on this I dont even think thats the case they pissed off Beane. It was clear rd 2 and 4 they had Sanders and Walker rated highest on their boards. The other rds it is hard to say they missed on the obvious wr. Imo dline and foot speed in the secondary was a problem. Post Hyde and Poyer they got slow. Beane went a long way in filling the 2 biggest needs on the roster. 2 1 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I didn’t hear it but it sounds hilarious (and kind of weird). Sorry, that you have an intelligent fan base. We can differentiate between the offense being good and the WRs being good. 6 1 Quote

pigpen65 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Lol. He's right. I love it. Something about Buffalo sports....... It's not just negativity. I don't know what it is. As soon as we get a good player we want to trade them away. As soon as we have a great exec we want to tear them down. As soon as we have a good thing going it's like we have to find a way to tank it. Buffalo sports media is the most toxic of the toxic. Not just because it's historically been filled with loudmouths, but because the loudmouths don't know ***** about sports. And they infect the fan base with it. Lindy Ruff is the Sabres head coach because the media and fans basically demanded it, and Lindy Ruff is a terrible ***** coach. So good on Beane. Shut these ***** up already. 7 1 1 2 1 Quote

It was almost like his version of Polian's "if your don't like it you can get out of town!" moment, but, in a much more well-mannered, southern gentlemanly, passive aggressive way. BringBackFergy Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Congrats to Beane! We scored more points than any other team last year and everyone wants another WR. What we need to do is stop others from scoring as many points as us...especially post season. 8 1 4 Quote
