eball Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago The amount of time and energy spent by Bills fans and local media criticizing a regime that has brought the longest sustained tenure of legitimate success since the SB years is astounding. You'd think this was a 4-13 cellar dweller, or that they'd been blown out in the playoffs. Fans want to talk and media people have to fill the airways...I get it. It's just a shame a little more time isn't spent focusing on how fortunate we are to have this team and the people running it. But, that's where we are these days. It's never about what's good, it's about what you want to complain about. A positive comment gets very few "likes" but a negative one has them rolling in. A legitimate conversation, in my opinion, would be for the WGR guys to get Beane on the air not to ask why he "devalues the position" (which is asinine) but ask him whether he values a receiver to take the top off a defense, for example. At least there would be some back and forth and a discussion. How about a question like whether he and his scouting staff have gone back and taken a look at where they may have missed something in some of the DL free agent acquisitions in the past? Nah, that might require the WGR guys to actually think a little bit instead of "acting mad" that Beane isn't doing what they think he should do. There's a reason why I listen to very little sports media these days...and I'm glad Beane let out a little frustration today. 3 1 3 Quote
zevo Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) WR train got shoved directly up whites bippy. It was cute for awhile. Did we not take one with our first pick last year? Let’s maybe see how that develops? Edited 7 hours ago by zevo Quote

I wanted the Bills to snag a field-stretching WR as much as anyone, but maybe that's what they were thinking?? Correct. Imo the big plays organically comes with Allen on busted plays. Passing plays are designed under 20 yards. Get the best guys that operate in that space. Taking the low% throw is allowing the defense to dictate to you. Im very interested how a more rocked up Coleman impacts his game. For his size he was slender. Being a physical player a little more armor should help. 1 Quote

Apparently, Beane was listening prior to his segment and suggested that the team had PLENTY at WR and this isn’t “Madden” … uncharacteristic for the usually unflappable Beane … entertaining radio fo a change 😂 Yes, and thats the real story here; how defensive Beane was. Beane is an excellent speaker and is generally great with the media. This interview is really unlike him. Especially as that was an easy question to dance around. All he had to say is something about liking what we have at WR and valuing other players more at the picks they had. "We would have loved to have gotten Josh more weapons but we're happy with the way the draft fell to us." "We're really excited for Prather". This isn't hard. I'm surprised he chose to go after them. 2 Quote
The Firebaugh Kid Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Beane ain't wrong about the offensive productivity, but having a UNICORN at qb is the only reason he's able to boast such numbers. We all feel bad for Allen, he works too damn hard to make this team good. They've done a REMARKABLE job with the oline and protection, but don't seem to understand that need for playmakers to help this guy out. PS: I like Moore alot. If he's WR5 I'm much more optimistic. Laviska should be out of the league by now. 1 Quote

Unlike about 30 other teams. Agreed for some reason they just cannot scout the position hence the trade for Diggs in the first place. Quote

TheWeatherMan Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Reality is this team has prioritized defense heavily during FA and the draft for the last 5-7 years. The end result has remained constant, Josh plays out of his mind in the playoffs and the defense plays like dog poo against teams with a passing attack. Beane and McD are trying the same thing over and over and are netting the same result, which I personally find frustrating. Either change the defensive scheme or prioritize offense to hope to outscore the Chiefs, Bengals, Ravens in the playoffs. 1 1 1 Quote

We all saw that flashing graphic during the draft: MOST WINS IN THE LAST 6 YEARS WITHOUT A SUPERBOWL APPEARANCE Sadly, we've gone from one drought to a different one. Albeit a much better type of drought to have to overcome. 1 Quote

TheBrownBear Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Finally listened to it. Thought it was refreshing. Felt Jeremy held his ground well while also remaining cordial and giving Beane time to cool off and get the discussion headed back in a more gentlemanly fashion. Don't mind the fire from Beane either. It's a tough job and he's a human being who is going to show his frustration at times. 1 Quote

Thought it was how he felt. We get enough of the vanilla glaze speak from McBeane. He’s is the guy who turned this franchise around. And he let these guys know he’s a professional at his craft. I would think the NFL expects would agree. Has he been perfect ? No , but he built this O around a power run game and a balanced mix. The Diggs super star diva days are over. BB just let WGR know what’s up. I’ll take his word he knows what he’s doing. Quote

Fans just want a Super Bowl and know Josh is the only reason that’s a real possibility. Quote

The name of the game is scoring points and every team has a salary cap to deal with so you can’t play fantasy football. There is no question that defense has prevented the Bills from advancing farther in the playoffs. Period. Was it D or Dalton that dropped the ball last year to end the season? Did D drop the ball or was that Diggs? Did D shank the FG or was that Bass? Was it the D that failed getting first on 3rd down(before the refs screwed us on 4th) - or was that again the Dalton’s fault? Points in regular season are great. Points in the playoffs are wonderful. that’s how I remember losing to KC the past few years Edited 6 hours ago by Pete 1 Quote

Why get so animated over a subject he knows to be true. He wants another speed WR. He said all he needed to in the PC- the guys weren’t on the board when they were on the clock. They went BPA. Leave it at that. Those that are expecting him to say he made a mistake and should’ve traded up, you should know better. That would ever be said. Nonetheless, that was a poor moment from Beane and I bet he wishes he had that one back Yea, I agree it's not Beane's best moment. With that said, Jeremy has access to that PC and Beane's decision making and still spent an hour of the show before Beane went on bashing the WR room. I'm sure it's quite frustrating for him Quote

Astute assessment since 3 had significant injuries and 1 wasn’t on the team. Dalton got hurt because JA threw a horrible pass to him in Indy. And his teammates raved about his toughness trying to play through it. Do we need more from these players? Yes. Do I expect it ? Yes. Quote
