We have cook for this year. Can always get one next draft. We’ve got a good stable for 2025

Give Cook a 2 year extension at 10 then 12 mil!  That will solve it.

If he gets 16 TD's again, that along with the normal increase in the cap, he'll be closer to getting his $15 million.

I don't get how you use a 2nd round pick on a player and not expect to give him a 2nd contract, so I'm hopeful that they can find common ground.

Good news, as maybe the Bills have something planned for Cook soon, to end this nonsense, and get one of the most important players on this team, a vital player, a burgeoning superstar, signed to a new multi year contract.

They will be able to save tens of millions on the defense in the coming years if this draft was successful, and they know that too.

So looking forward to a great resolution, and before the season begins.

I am betting Josh is beating the drum very hard behind the scenes, in fact would bet a lot on that being the case.. He finally has one of the missing pieces of the puzzle, an elite back, and will not 'let him walk'.

There isn't room for another RB on the roster. So, unless Cook is traded, they are set. I'm sure they will bring in some camp bodies if they need any.

It will be interesting to see what happens at the conclusion of the season but I expect we will get his best effort this year and I don’t expect him to miss time for a hold out. If ultimately we don’t sign him at the end of this, I think it will be more based on just how we view the RB role with age and value vs a draft pick. I don’t think it will be about 10 vs 15 million. If we feel it’s logical to pay a RB a decent sum on a second contract we probably get it done. Many don’t feel that way around the league.

I think everyone is discounting that Cook very well may hold out to start the year. We need another option. We have zero weapons on offense outside of Cook. We can't keep putting it all on Allen's shoulders, it's so hard to win a Super Bowl that way, everything has to go perfect. So frustrated with Beane's approach to the RB and WR room. Literally nobody scares you.

Why draft a RB who is unlikely to make the team? Cook will be playing this year. He needs to have a good year to continue to build his value. Oh by the way the Bills can tag him for the 2026 season. He has no power. If he holds out, he doesn’t get paid.

You mean Beane isnt foaming-at-the-mouth mad about Cooks minor social media posts and isnt trying to trade away our 2nd best Offensive weapon?

TBD hater brigade in shambles.

And yeah, this too.

I honestly think the Bills would be willing to give Ty Johnson a heavy workload with Ray Davis as the #2 if Cook legitimately held out into the regular season. Fact is 17 makes the offense go, Cook is a weapon but we’d score points without him.

If all else fails we can always give big Reggie G a few carries 😤

A day or two of camp at the most. Wait and see. Holding out after year three is really rare.

Greatly doubt it.

The tag price even this year would be over $14M. I think if he won't sign they'll let him look for something better and come back if our offer starts to look good to him. That's his standard procedure.

We have a ton of weapons outside of Cook. They may not be up to your standard, but we were the #2 scoring offense in football last year, and Kincaid and Coleman were badly held back by injuries.

When you've got Josh Allen throwing the ball, everyone scares you. If you've instead got someone like Tua, you'd better bring in some weapons.

listening to big brother whispering in his ear. they both have over inflated a 2 down back.

i see him holding out and getting inevitable hammy injury and rides the pine as a parttime player.

whats the over/under on the hammy injury?

Cook will probably show up and not practice at TC. He's the most important player on offense after Allen.

They will add one more camp body to keep the reps down on the top 3.

Cook 6.5

Johnson 3.2

Davis 2.0

Those were the YPC in the KC game.

But somehow he is not on the field for the final drive. Stupid.

This is delusional. A ton of weapons outside of Cook? What on earth are you smoking and can I please get some?? We don't have a single weapon that anyone has to game plan for outside of Cook, and even he has his limitations (I support what Beane is doing in contract negotiations there).   That's not debatable, we have nobody that can take pressure off Allen. Those continuing to pound the "but #2 scoring offense" are missing the boat, Josh Allen is the sole reason the Bills offense is good, it would be off the charts if he actually had some weapons. Josh Allen making heroics up and down the field is not sustainable, and everything will have to go perfect for us to make a Super Bowl. Even the offensive line, while very solid, looks a lot better because JA avoids so many sacks. Don't kid yourself, it's him and only him. We need another weapon on offense that actually scares teams, and have for the last 3 years.

Any theories or Cook comments?

Agents told them they have 3 solidified players on the 53.  Evans made the Bills 53 in the past and the team like Gore Jr.  thats 5 backs.  Basically, signing a UDFA as a camp body without path to make the team.  Cook will be there when he has to.  Wouldnt be surprised if there is a handshake deal they wont tag him if they cant work out an extension over the next 10 months.  Beane seems very confident that Cook wont be holding out.

I did want to take one in this draft just because the value is there. Taking one in the 7th you might have been able to sneak a guy on the PS. Two of my favorites Brashard Smith and LeQuint Allen both went round 7 but I get why they didn’t do it

Or let him walk.  He won't be getting  17 tds next year.  somebody else will carry the mail inside the 10.

A lot of replies are saying "not a chance to make the final roster" as a reason... I mean 98.5% of the undrafted free-agents have close to 0% chance of making the team as well. They sign to get camp experience, possible pre-season game tape and a chance to show who they are to the rest fo the league. Im very surprised not even one RB was brought in.

Like last year when Worthy was on the board and we traded the pick to our nemesis...

I would have thought Bean would get himself some holdout insurance on Cook by drafting somebody.  They would be OK in training camp anyway.  If Cook does hold out into the season, Buffalo can still rotate Johnson and Davis.  Evans and Gore Jr. would compete for the third spot.  I'm not high on Gore Jr.  I think he's a scrub with a famous name.  If necessary, Buffalo can search for a diamond in the rough from among other teams' cuts.
