DrDawkinstein Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago You mean Beane isnt foaming-at-the-mouth mad about Cooks minor social media posts and isnt trying to trade away our 2nd best Offensive weapon? TBD hater brigade in shambles. 3 2 Quote

My theory is Cook will continue to want more money than Beane is willing to give, he will threaten a holdout, he might miss TC but he would be stupid to holdout through actual games, that would tank his FA value. I believe this will be his last season in Buffalo, which is fine. I'd like to keep him, but he's asking for waaaay too much, Dalvin is giving him stupid advice. 2 Quote
Yobogoya! Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I honestly think the Bills would be willing to give Ty Johnson a heavy workload with Ray Davis as the #2 if Cook legitimately held out into the regular season. Fact is 17 makes the offense go, Cook is a weapon but we’d score points without him. If all else fails we can always give big Reggie G a few carries 😤 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago RB room is full. Cook is the starter. Davis and Johnson have roles behind him with Gore on the PS. Beane seems to like taking the RB about every 2 years. Gives that guy about that 2 years to develop and learn the offense/pro game and then he becomes the new starter Next year IF Cook isn't here I expect Davis to start, Johnson and a rookie to back him up. Seems to be the cycle. If for any reason Cook pushes his way out before the start of the season, there are plenty of backs on the market that can be brought in at a low price. 3 1 Quote

vtnatefootball11 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I think everyone is discounting that Cook very well may hold out to start the year. We need another option. We have zero weapons on offense outside of Cook. We can't keep putting it all on Allen's shoulders, it's so hard to win a Super Bowl that way, everything has to go perfect. So frustrated with Beane's approach to the RB and WR room. Literally nobody scares you. 1 1 Quote
somnus00 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Post June 1st cuts may provide some options at RB and WR. There are plenty of signings to go before camp starts. 3 Quote

khlax3 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Rb is full on the active roster and they have 2PS guys they already like in gore JR and Darlington Evans. They will probably bring in 1 more guy for training camp but they may just wait it out and if the guys are all healthy roll with that. 1 Quote

Ya Digg? Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 8 minutes ago, SoonerBillsFan said: Beane is reactive not proactive. He will wait until Cook is gone then draft one. In terms of a running back, that’s not a bad thing. Why draft one, use up one of his years and not get much from him, when you can get one next year and have an extra year of cost control? 1 Quote

So frustrated with Beane's approach to the RB and WR room. Literally nobody scares you. I think the exact opposite. I think some posters are overly inflating the likelihood that will happen. He wants to be paid top dollar. Holding out isn't going to get that done. Whether that's here or somewhere else. He knows it. If he wants to get that money, he's going to have to earn that money. No one is paying close to what he's asking based on what he's done and then holding out any length of time in his contract year. Adam Schefter reported that he'd be playing for us this year. Which means to this point, he's been led to believe there will be no hold out. Beane himself talked about how people are getting carried away and that he has absolutely no concerns that Cook will hold out, just yesterday: Quote "I've been very comfortable with James the whole time. I hope everyone's seen that. We love James. I call him Jimbo. We love Jimbo. NOTHING has changed. The business is the business. If Jimbo walked through those doors, i'd give him a big hug and I believe he would do the same. And that's the god's honest truth. I don't let the business effect, like I understand it, and I think the outside world sometimes tries to make things bigger than they are. Social Media, I know, adds to that. Jimbo has a big heart. He's a competitive dude. He wants to win. And nothing, NOTHING, gives me any concern about Jimbo being ready to play football for the Buffalo Bills this year." BillsFanForever19 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago 1 hour ago, ElMarko said: Any theories or Cook comments? There's really no need to. We carry 3 RB's on the 53. Those are set in stone with James Cook, Ray Davis, and Ty Johnson. None of them are going anywhere this season. And for the Pre-Season and as possible Practice squad candidates - Frank Gore Jr. and Darrynton Evans are also on the Roster and will be in Camp. They obviously don't feel like they need a 6th Tailback in camp, who definitely wouldn't make the 53 and probably wouldn't even make the PS above Gore. I think if anything it speaks to them wanting to keep Gore in the system and get him more work in the Offseason, by not bringing in anyone else beyond Evans that would take reps away or compete to push him off the Practice Squad. DJB Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago If we don’t sign him to a reasonable extension, Beane is going to tag him 1 Quote
Sojourner Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 4 minutes ago, DJB said: If we don’t sign him to a reasonable extension, Beane is going to tag him With the contracts they have extended last year and this offseason, I’d begin to think that as well. The only guy I can see being tagged outside of Cook is Bosa. Even then that’s a huge task and probably unlikely given what he would be signed for and the return on the compensatory pick. 1 Quote
