If Kincaid and Coleman develop, the Bills willl be fine. Shakir, Palmer and Samuel (if healthy, big if) are good receivers too. Granted they still need a speedster outside. Be patient, it’s four months to the start of the season and they may bring in another WR. Less optimistically framed the 9th wr off the board and the pass catcher that isn’t a wr left after literally all the first round WRs were taken 25 minutes ago, oldmanfan said: The problem is you consistently bash the team. I cannot for the life of me understand all the angst over a WR #5. Our WR4 has never shown he can stay healthy. Two of the four WR’s are the potential of Keon Coleman in year 2 and the potential of Josh Palmer in this offense. Shakir, a slot WR, is the only reliable thing we have going into the year at the position. Adding another WR is also an unknown, but I’d have much less angst if Curtis Samuel wasn’t one of the 4 WR’s we’re relying on. We just want one more NFL caliber WR3 type added to the room. This isn’t a wild ask. Allen, very clearly, enters the season right now with the worst receiver room out of Mahomes, Burrow, Lamar and Hurts. And you can say look at our TE’s too.. ok.. look at theirs. I feel like I’m going crazy when people wonder why we just want one more non-PS level WR added to the room. 3 1 5 Quote

And it’s Beanes job to give his all world QB the weapons he need to get a ring. Beane has the best QB in the league and the MVP, his job is easier than the other 31 GMs in the NFL. He has no excuse to not have explosive weapons for him. We can’t keep asking Josh to perform miracles EVERY SINGLE YEAR. There are teams with 2nd and 3rd options better than our first. It’s inexcusable. 1 Quote

Can we count on Samuels to be healthy the entire season? Who is our 5th WR? Palmer 1 Keon 2 Shakir slot Samuels Buffalo saw more man to man coverage last season, because no one respects our WR. We have had FA and the draft to correct that, and Beane has done Jack *****. its going to take another Ravens curb stomping to make Beane panic and make another Amari like trade. It’s the emperors new clothes. We have yet to replace John Brown. This offense needs a vertical component which it is sorely lacking. I know Bills had great offense- after we acquired Amari. We lose Mack and Amari, and added Palmer. Name a worse WR group. What happens if there is a WR injury? Is WR Beanes Achilles heal? we scored the most points in the NFL last year and set team records for points last year. Would be nice to have a star at WR but it was the defense that kept us from the Superbowl. 1 1 Quote

Hopefully Coleman improves, but he was barely even replacement level down the stretch last year. They haven't given themselves any options here. And that's not to say that the answer was in this draft. But this is a big potential problem that's been developing over the last two or three years. 1 1 Quote
Shortchaz Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago The bills are transitioning/have transitioned to a power running/ball control style offense, and are all the better for it. Our wr’s are going to be football players not track athletes. They’re going to block, play special teams, and catch the ball when it’s thrown to them. They’re never going to command 35 million a year, they’re never going to have 2,000 yard seasons, they’re never going to be above the team. That’s not to say they won’t have the opportunity to put up numbers and make a great life for their family financially (see shakir). the idea that we need a speed receiver to take the top off a defense is understandable, but obviously not required. The long ball is not this team’s/josh’s strength. 1 Quote

KC drafted Royals to a room similar to ours Something like that would have shut us up But we didn’t.. so be it, but there will be opportunities to add another WR this Summer/Fall and Beane is gaslighting when he pretends he’s not concerned about WR We didn’t bring in a bunch of speed WR’s on 30 visits for no reason Quote

I have often said they will do the same thing after the Bills win the Super Bowl, and for the same reasons. Confused, disoriented, and seething with anger, they will soon crawl out, lashing, bashing in an even more bizarre, confrontational manner than before, challenging the stupid fans who could still support a team even after it took them much too long to win it all. Several great examples so far, and many more to come! Many will be the same as above, "Oh yeah, you think this is so good, what about..." and then the hater will challenge Bills' fans to answer some of the most super negative, bizarre questions they can think up in their rage, one after another. A clear pattern. Wow. That escalated quickly. Sometime people can have a discussion. State opinions. Without "seething" anger, or being "haters". Just my two cents... 1 2 Quote

Probably because the offense is at the top of the league and most of the players are coming back and the defense had a terrible year? It is not like they always focus on defense and not offense. They have built a really outstanding OL, running game, they have two good TE's and maybe adequate WR's. Not going to argue they cannot improve talent at WR but talent is/was lacking much more severerly elsewhere. The previous two seasons they used their top pick on a pass Catcher. They have signed FA's too. They also used like 3 picks to get Diggs in 2020 and essentially a 3rd this year so they could have Cooper last year. They dont ignore offense, not sure how that is perceived. Quote

He navigated the Draft beautifully, especially when it came to knowing when to move up and how far we needed to go to jump specific teams in on our guy (SF/Sanders & PHI/Walker) Im expecting a Super Bowl caliber Defense with the high end additions and strong depth added to, specifically, the DL and CB rooms. I just want a solid WR3 type added to the room so Allen isn’t reliant on a 4 man WR room where 1 of them is always injured lol. I guess we’ll just have to try not to uncontrollably seethe in our anger over this wild ask. Edited 10 hours ago by SCBills 2 Quote
Dr. Who Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago 14 minutes ago, oldmanfan said: Because it’s a chat room and that’s what we do. Your opinions have no more value than anyone else. How was this draft going to change it? There absolutely were some mid-round WRs with the potential to help the WR room. Royals, Horton, Ayomanor, Thornton, just to name a few. There were plenty of options, but we traded up in the fourth for a top-heavy 3T who just had a bad year because of a back injury. (I hope the gamble works out, but replace that move with a WR -- Thornton went at 108, so he was off the board), and this draft looks much more rational and acknowledges a genuine need on offense. 1 Quote
DJB Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I’m not upset about the lack of a flyer on a speed WR. I’m tired for hoping to land one in the late rounds that stick and will barely make the roster We need to be aggressive and go up and get a legit #1 guy We missed that opportunity last year when I said and pounded the table to go get Brian Thomas and we settled for Coleman We need to prioritize the position early round 1 in 2026 or 2027 (elite WR class) Quote

The Chargers needed him to step up countless times through the years due to injuries to Williams and sometimes Keenan Allen. He could fill in and give replacement level production. When he was featured heavily he was inefficient. He did better as a role player but he just isn’t explosive enough to be a high level receiver. There is a reason the Chargers did not care much about losing him and then replaced him in the draft. I think his ceiling is another WR that their original team let walk in free agency during their prime: Jakobi Meyers. But I think Myers is a better player. 1 Quote

BillsFooteball Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I think this is a case where both views on this topic are correct. Last year at the end of offseason I did a deep dive on all WR groups and made a post about bills having bottom 5 WR group. Most feedback was debating that and I was being negative. I was pessimistic about the group going into the year. Now I do believe that to still be true. Look at WR stats and bills feeling need to add Cooper. However, as offense bills were second in PPG and Allen was MVP. They made it work. Going into this year I will once again say at this time, bills have a bottom 5 or right on that cusp WR group. However, I’m more optimistic because I just saw them do this last year and come so close to superbowl. Defense has been the issue and that needed to be and was addressed. They also have a fantastic o-line and a very good RB. The WR/TE room is weak but we have Superman at QB. 1 Quote
