I don’t know.

I know I spent a lot of time last year arguing with folks that Mack Hollins wouldn’t see a ton of playing time. A LOT.

He, of course, was the leading snap count WR.

The problem with that is that Palmer sucks

The problem is you consistently bash the team.

I like Palmer.  But we added Palmer and lost Amari and Mack.  We have 4 NFL WRs.  Every other team in the league has 5-6 WR.  No one can answer who are 5th WR is?

Shavers takes Hollins spot.  We’ll miss Hollins more on special teams than anything.  Palmer upgrades Cooper.  I cannot for the life of me understand all the angst over a WR #5.

The only WR returning from 2023 to 2024 was Kahlil Shakir, so Allen had a bunch of new faces to throw to in 2024.

As far as Kincade is concerned, a bunch of teams were focusing on taking him away in the offense, and he was also dealing with an injury at some point in the season. If I'm not mistaken, many of Kincade's passes were thrown to him, and only 69% of them were catchable targets. Of the 40 tight ends to have run forty routes, that is the lowest % at 41. When Kincade was targeted 10 or more yards down the field, only 37% of those targets were catchable.

What's crazy is that Dalton Kincade's injury in week 10 was because he was chasing down an inaccurate pass while he was wide open.

Not blaming Josh Allen here, it's just that the two need better chemistry and to get on the same page, and this will happen the more they work together. The same can be said of the entire receiver room. Even Allen stated, as his season-ending PC, that he needed to get better at getting the ball to Kincade.

Plus, Amari Cooper is still a free agent, and perhaps teams are unwilling to give him 20 million a season at this point. He did sort of disappoint in Buffalo for a third-round pick, and perhaps he returns to the Bills, as I understand they did make him an offer.

SO, Josh Palmer is now easily the best separator on the Bills. He ranked 10th of 160 qualifying receivers in route win rate last year. Next-closest Bills receiver (Amari Cooper) ranked 61st.

Players drafted in the 6th and 7th rounds have between a 10-15% chance of making the team, so yes, certain rounds count significantly less.

What WR could we have drafted in round 5 or 6 that you feel would be an automatic upgrade over guys on the roster currently?

Hollins showed up for the playoffs.  Did Keon?  Did Dalton?

Totally agree. We should bury 40% of the salary cap in WRs instead of the trenches just like the Dolphins. That’s absolutely the best way to build a team. 🙄

You know what seems like a winning strategy?

Theres a way to cost control players. Players that play positions that demand really high contracts.

Somehow, if you could take some of these players when they enter the league? At like a player selection meeting? They don’t cost nearly as much. Then you can get a ton of value out of them before you need to pay them lots of money.

it seems radical, so I have to do some more research on the subject. If you hear about anything like that, please let the group know.

I’m sorry.  Do we now no longer think guys can improve after their rookie year?  Or that guys with torn Packs and other injuries won’t get better?

That’s why they got Palmer in free agency.

Yep. Need more depth though.

Shakir will be great. If Coleman plays like he did prior to injury, should be ok.  Need to see how Palmer fits here - 575 yards per year average doesn’t blow me away, hope this is his breakout year.  Samuels was not very good last year.  Prather looked good in the video I saw, but how does that translate to the pro’s?

Sorry, not overwhelmed with it WR room.  Unless the plan is to elevate from the practice squad, need to add quality depth.

I love the Bills. It hurts my heart to watch them waste their best chance in winning the big one in Josh Allen.

Palmer ***** SUCKS. He was getting outtargeted by Quinton Johnston who is a laughably bad WR with terrible hands and a borderline bust.

Im willing to bet you have never watched more than a single Chargers game so what are you even adding here RE: Palmer?

You have guys like Hamler who are precisely what guys are moaning about not getting on day 3 this weekend.

I have watched some.  Palmer upgrades Cooper.  What was your solution in this draft?  There weren’t these stud WRs you apparently want.

Which ones

Film on Palmer when they got him.  Look, bottom line is I don’t think your opinions mean squat.  And vice versa of course.

Allow me to reiterate.

When other WRs were out injured with the Chargers, Palmer stepped up, and in 2022, he had 11 game starts. 107 targets with 72 receptions with 769 yards.

How about we wait and see what the training camp/preseason looks like before we melt down because of the current WR room. At that point, if things look bleak, perhaps Beane makes a trade.
