I don't think many fans disagree that rebuilding the defense should have been the main focus in this draft. It's just some of us wanted them to throw a bone to the offense too. Literally just use one decently high pick on a pass catcher. Is that so unfair? Trading up in the 4th when a couple vertical WRs were sitting there and instead taking yet another defensive lineman felt like total overkill to me.

The Bills believe that a 4th Round 1-tech DT is likely going to make a much better impact than a 4th round vertical speed WR who is likely to be the 5th or 6th WR on the team

the DT cupboard was bare beyond Oliver and Anderson.  The WR group only has the 5th WR position open

the value pick there was DT.

my bigger concern is LB depth compared to WR.  Beyond the two starters and Williams there is no one.  I hope the bills pick up someone in post draft FA. Dolac was an ascending player and could have been good here

If you go back and look at the SB's New England won with Brady, it's either middle of the pack WR's or one good WR and a good TE. He never had a plethora or riches at the position until he got to Tampa. He won 6 rings prior to that and got a lot of mediocre guys paid. Peyton Manning, on the other hand, had good WR's (one HOF'er) while in Indy, a HOF RB in Edgerrin James, and Dallas Clark. He still only got one Lombardi in that time because the Pats, Steelers, and Ravens pretty much ran things in the AFC.

The Bills lost their last 2 playoff games when Allen made mental errors with the ball in his hands and a chance to win those games.

But we are supposed to compare him to the ultimate preparer and 24/7/365 football obsessed competitor.......the most money in the clutch decision making QB EVER in Tom Brady?

For what?   To humor you?

Josh Allen is a great player.   And an obsessive golfer,  connoisseur of brown alcohol and lover of a whole lot of other things away from football.   He's a guy who going into his 8th year and says he is going to work on understanding pre-snap reads better. 😂

He's much more relatable to the common man BECAUSE he's working to live and not living to work.

But because he ain't going to work like the GOAT........he needs more help than the GOAT.

Like basically EVERY QB ever needs more help than Tom Brady did.

Beane isn't making any major moves. He said it, he thinks this is a legit WR room.

Like last year, it will take some brutal reality to get it through his thick skull. It would be good if he doesn't panic and send a 3rd for a rental WR again.  Stock your roster now with what you need and WR is still a position of need. We lost 2 productive WRs (Hollins and Cooper) and replaced them with one (Palmer).

Who is our outside WRs?  Where are they?  Did Keon play so good that we can count on him to be WR2?  Is Palmer WR 1?  Can we count on Samuels to be healthy the entire season?  Who is our 5th WR?

Palmer 1

Keon 2

Shakir slot

Samuels

Buffalo saw more man to man coverage last season, because no one respects our WR.  We have had FA and the draft to correct that, and Beane has done Jack *****.

its going to take another Ravens curb stomping to make Beane panic and make another Amari like trade.

It’s the emperors new clothes.  We have yet to replace John Brown.  This offense needs a vertical component which it is sorely lacking.

I know Bills had great offense- after we acquired Amari.

We lose Mack and Amari, and added Palmer.

Name a worse WR group.

What happens if there is a WR injury?  Is WR Beanes Achilles heal?

We're fine...we truly are at WR. We should be improved from last year at WR, (Keon, Samuel and Kincaid healthy, addition of Palmer, maybe Moore and as a whole, another year familiar with the system for everybody) and Bills offense ran like a well-oiled machine most of last year.

Who is our 5th WR? Every team in league has 5 rosterable WR except Bills.   What makes you assume Dalton and Keon will be better?  In 2024 there was zero separation.  What makes you assume our WR can separate in 2025?

Statistically speaking, the Bills receiving group was at least top 10 in almost all receiving categories. Being that the Bills were more run heavy last year, and successful at it, there were far fewer attempts than most teams. They had 329 passing attempts placing them in 27th, with 3938 yards 17th in the league. But when they did pass the ball, they were more efficient than most teams. They averaged 12 yards per attempt, tied for 5th. They had 30 receiving TDs, tied for 7th. 56 20+ yard receptions, tied for 5th. 11 40+ yard receptions tied for 5th. Had a 55% chance of first down per reception, tied for 9th. Amazing stats for supposedly being the weakest group in the NFL.

The offense scored 65 TDs last season.

Only one team (DET) scored more.

Josh had 12 rushing TDs

Cook had 18 Tds.

so Josh and Cook combined for 46% of TDs.

Amari had 4 TDs

Mack led WR with 5 TD

Mack and Amari combined for 9 TDS, or 14%.  That is 14% of TDs that have vanished.

Dalton had 2 TDs or 3%

Keon had 4 TDS, or 6%

Samuel had 1 TD or 1.5%

Palmer had 1 TD for Chargers.

so looking at TDs this way- it’s obvious Josh Allen and James Cook are biggest reasons we scored 65 TDs.

Dalton, Keon, Samuel, Palmer- 4 receivers combined for 12%a a sliver of 65 TDs.

more TDs walked out the door- we lost 14% of TDs and have yet to adequately replace Mack Hollins and Amari Cooper.

65 TDS- Thank you Josh Allen and James Cook.

Now for the love of God, can we get Josh a stud WR who cans separate and catch?
