Pete Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Who is our outside WRs? Where are they? Did Keon play so good that we can count on him to be WR2? Is Palmer WR 1? Can we count on Samuels to be healthy the entire season? Who is our 5th WR? Palmer 1 Keon 2 Shakir slot Samuels Buffalo saw more man to man coverage last season, because no one respects our WR. We have had FA and the draft to correct that, and Beane has done Jack *****. its going to take another Ravens curb stomping to make Beane panic and make another Amari like trade. It’s the emperors new clothes. We have yet to replace John Brown. This offense needs a vertical component which it is sorely lacking. I know Bills had great offense- after we acquired Amari. We lose Mack and Amari, and added Palmer. Name a worse WR group. What happens if there is a WR injury? Is WR Beanes Achilles heal? 3 3 5 9 2 1 3 Quote
Mister Defense Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago I think one of the fun things in the next few weeks will be watching the haters start to crawl out from the sewers. foaming at the mouth, as they don't know what to do with themselves after such an excellent and consequential draft, one that clearly should move the Bills to the next level. I have often said they will do the same thing after the Bills win the Super Bowl, and for the same reasons. Confused, disoriented, and seething with anger, they will soon crawl out, lashing, bashing in an even more bizarre, confrontational manner than before, challenging the stupid fans who could still support a team even after it took them much too long to win it all. Several great examples so far, and many more to come! Many will be the same as above, "Oh yeah, you think this is so good, what about..." and then the hater will challenge Bills' fans to answer some of the most super negative, bizarre questions they can think up in their rage, one after another. A clear pattern. 8 2 2 1 5 3 2 3 Quote
Doc Brown Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago (edited) Chargers, Patriots, Panthers, Cowboys, Raiders, Jets, Titans, Seahawks, and maybe 49ers depending on Aiyuk's recovery. That's off the top of my head. Edited: Forgot about the Browns and Giants. Edited 3 hours ago by Doc Brown 8 3 3 1 Quote

Buffalo Junction Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Totally agree. We should bury 40% of the salary cap in WRs instead of the trenches just like the Dolphins. That’s absolutely the best way to build a team. 🙄 3 4 1 Quote
BillsFanForever19 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago It's too soon to freak out. There's time between now and Training Camp and a few roster slots still open (I think we stand at 87 with the UDFA's that leaked). If we go into Training Camp with just what we have now - I won't like that. But I'd bet we'll add another veteran between now and then. Quote

njbuff Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) They spent the two prior drafts from this one using their top picks on receivers for Allen. If Kincaid and Coleman develop, the Bills willl be fine. Shakir, Palmer and Samuel (if healthy, big if) are good receivers too. Granted they still need a speedster outside. Be patient, it’s four months to the start of the season and they may bring in another WR. Edited 12 hours ago by njbuff Quote

I suspect all Bills fans would be so deliriously happy that all past faults that we find in each other or in the management of this team, will be forgiven. still, the elephant in the room is the actual winning of the Super Bowl, lol. Beane has never produced a playoff roster that was loaded like the Eagles. And McDermott has never coached up a playoff roster to play beyond its talent level, particular on defense (his specialty) where the Bills D tends to go in the opposite direction and underachieve or implode against the top QBs. Kirby Jackson Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) I’d say it’s bottom 3 along with the Raiders and Panthers maybe. If Tet can play they go by us. The Browns aren’t great either but Jeudy is coming off a 1200 yard season so I’d give them the edge. The Raiders kind of stink. I’d say somewhere between 28-31. Shakir is a good, not great slot. 10-15 years ago he would have been a great slot. The game has just changed and a lot of elite WRs operate out of the slot (Jefferson, St. Brown, etc). Shakir is a top 40ish WR. The Bills might not have another guy in the top 75. I’m not talking fantasy. They will have some guys higher than that in fantasy because someone has to catch the ball and Josh Allen is throwing it. I’m saying if you ranked all WRs in the NFL from 1-75, Shakir may be the only guy on the list (Coleman or Palmer might get in there). It’s a bad group. Edited 12 hours ago by Kirby Jackson 4 6 Quote
Billzgobowlin Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Did the WR group lose us games last year? I think you will see Kincaid and Samuels have bounce back years. The talent is there and I would not switch this group with most groups in the NFL. 2 1 1 Quote

We are hoping and praying guys develop or bounce back. Not a great way to be headed into the season. Beane should be on the phone for a trade. 2 2 Quote
BuffaloBillyG Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Let's see what they do to upgrade the room between now and TC. If they stay as is, I admit it wouldn't be inspiring. But let's see if they bring back a vet like Cooper. Maybe go younger and get Elijah Moore. Maybe a trade? Point is it's not like Beane is just on vacation from now until September. I also am among the few that think Shavers may be given a shot to make the 53 and he would be in Hollins role from last year. I'd like to see what we have with him too...I think he could be a good role player. 3 1 Quote

He will be more impactful this year, I agree. If people think he’s going to magically become Prime Diggs, he’s not. He’s a guy that’s good with the ball in his hands. He catches screens, runs the ball some, etc.. He is good with the ball in space like Shakir. I do think Kincaid improves as well. I don’t think he improves because he has a ton of untapped upside. He will be 26 years old this season. He’s developed. I think he improves because he wasn’t very good last year. He can be a quality role player. He might never be the top 5 TE I thought he’d become but he can be a top 12ish guy. I keep hammering on it in the other thread but why do they keep banking on improvement on offense but replacement on defense? Why were they so concerned with upgrading Cam Lewis, Dwayne Carter and J’Marcus Ingram but fine with development from Shavers, Coleman, and Samuel? You could have and should have tried to upgrade on both sides. The WR room needed one guy between rounds 2 & 5 (as it turns out) that could stretch the field. There were LOTS of options. 5 1 1 4 Quote
ProcessTruster Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Bills play against zone a great deal, limiting the deep ball. So not sure a speed guy adds a lot. Once the league saw Josh take off and gash them against man (2019,2020) , they went zone. Not sure that will change much. Zone limits the value of a speed guy. Bills seem to have decided they need to play more man to enable rush to get there with only above average talent In order to play man, you need guys like Max and Benford who can track every route on their own Bills are tight on the cap , therefore need lots of top 150 draft picks to fill in when the D Jones of the world head out at year end Therefore you don't trade up for a speed guy WR (bc they won't add much), you go get fast man-to-man corners and big D line rush guys This really isn't that hard to understand. Defenses have gotten smaller over time to defend the pass .... and teams on now running on them. Bills are no different. We all loved the go-go 2020 offense, but the league has largely took that away with cover 2 zone, so the fan base needs to let it go and move on. In fact, defenses are now switching again to playing man against the Bills, so a seperator like Palmer is a great add. I am not disturbed much by the OP. 1 Quote

I can agree with almost everything you said. It was obvious they wanted to improve the defense and that was the big issue. I would not have been upset with a receiver but I am not upset that they didn't. I don't think there was a guy who would have made us better next year because it wasn't a great draft for them. I'm more upset about the Coleman pick last year than this draft. They should have gone up to get a better receiver last year or draft McConkey than do something about it this year.
