I actually kind of like this dudes highlights. Don’t remember watching him in college last year though

I've been watching him the last couple of years and he was grossly underutilized at Tech.  Good hands and can go across the middle, with speed to go outside.  Anxious to see what kind of camp he has.

If the Rams cut him in August (which is a very real possibility because most UDFAs don't make teams), we can add him to our practice squad.

The way Beane reaches in the draft, he's probably already preparing sending next year's picks for the guy.

Would that be a first... passing on someone in the draft, only to then trade away draft picks to get an UDFA? 🙃

Akharaiyi and Latu are the only guys with NfL.com draft profiles, so I am assuming they are the only legit guys.

edit: and Jacob Bayer

Owens is on Trapasso's draftable list, played multiple positions at UNH:

"235. Wande Owens, S, New Hampshire

Another monster tester -- 9.59 RAS -- Owens transferred to New Hampshire from Yale and made plays nonstop in 2024. Slot defender. Deep safety. Outside corner. Linebacker. Didn't matter. Late in the draft, look for experienced, quality athletes who've made plays all over the field. That perfectly describes Owens. "

Entered the portal from Yale, assume he played with Hawes previously. Whip-smart, have seen ~4.50-4.60 40 range. 5'11" 210-ish. Scouts seem to like his fit primarily as slot, but can backup at multiple positions similar to Hancock and the suddenly-very-concerned Cam Lewis.

https://sports.yahoo.com/the-nfl-drafts-secret-round-170012115.html

In 2023, 194 Week 1 starters — almost 28% — were drafted in the first round of their respective drafts. Another 143 starters, or roughly 20%, were drafted in the second round, and another 107, or about 15%, were taken in the third round. In other words, picks in the top three rounds made up nearly two-thirds of all NFL lineups in 2023.

Beyond that point, though, an interesting trend emerges. As expected, declining numbers of players selected in Round 4 (77), Round 5 (52), Round 6 (33) and Round 7 (18) reached the starting lineup.

However, 80 undrafted players — more than any of the final four rounds — were in starting lineups in Week 1 of the 2023 season. More than 11% of all starters in 2023 went undrafted.

This pattern holds over longer timeframes, as well. From 2019 to 2023, 429 undrafted players — more than 12% — reached the starting lineup. (We counted every season a player started separately; if an undrafted player started all five seasons, that counts as five “undrafted” starts.) That’s fewer than all Round 3-picked starters (521) but more than Round 4 (363).

That Gosnell kid is good friends with a friend of my son.  Used to hang out in HS.  Would be cool if he at least made the PS.

Why not use all 33 starters. 22x32??

I don't read much into thr UDFA count. Thesr are a few a team and they usually l y are interior lineman,a DB, an DC possibly a WR

Elgersma was just selected 18th Overall in the CFL Draft. So if neither of the workouts with us or the Packers gets him a UDFA Signing to come to Camp (as it appears he hasn't been signed and is just a Rookie Mini-Camp tryout) - he's got a fall back option.

Daryl Porter of music city miracle infamy’s kid?

Yes.   I assume he is here because of his connection to Addae from his U of Miami days.   Camp body.  Wasn't very good in college so shouldn't have to worry about him making the team and not staying in his lane on ST's.

Latu is pretty interesting. Doesn't look super fast but looks huge, could be an interesting development on the practice squad guy.

Doesn't go down easy.
