Bills 5th Round Pick (#1) : Jordan Hancock - CB - The Ohio State

Every secondary slot is up for grabs except benford's (well, tbh his is too, but there are about 3 or 4 players in the NFL who have a shot at winning it).

I think they like bishop and he will work out, and I think rapp is a steady hand, so it will take something impressive to unseat him.  Taron Johnson has fallen off and if this kid outplays him he will take his spot, and while mad max is the favorite to win CB2, it will be a fight.

After next season youth and cheapness will beat out vets if the race is a tie.

I don't take the writeups as gospel (no pun intended) but these guys do this for a living and watch more tape then I'd ever care to see so I don't just gloss over it either. I watched a few snippets of him in coverage and so far he does have some slight issues there.

a lot of them do not watch near as much as you give credit for

Did I see right that the entire buckeyes defense has been drafted?

Caleb Downs isn't eligible.

But yea, that defense didn't have much super star power other than Downs, but every single dude was solid, which is what made them so good, and the draft reflects that.

All these CBs are a. Indictment of Ingram who did not even see the field when Benford went down.

How much of an indictment can there be for an undrafted player?

Bills are going to have a real camp battle this season for DB. Love to see it.

I’d love to see it at WR. But I guess we can do this years version of Claypool/MVS/Shorter/Shavers for the 5th spot 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ingram was our highest graded special teams player

I wanted a safety that actually had CB experience.  I'm not sure this was exactly what I had in mind but I don't hate the try.  We have a group of safeties that are cover 2, run and tackle type safeties.  None of them are coverage guys like Hyde used to be.

You arent wrong. Fingers crossed his concussions dont make that decision for us.

In terms of function, he's like a Cam Lewis: nickel CB, safety and special teams.  Physically, he's taller and faster, but a bit on the slender side for a safety.  If he does play more safety, he might want to add 15 lbs of lean muscle.
