I wonder if he gets traded for some pick down the road, like some of the guys on the OL when we upgraded there.

seems like he was playing pretty well before the injury to the wrist, I would think Jones is the likely man out

Walker’s ‘23 tape is filthy … like RD1 draft pick filthy.

Lots of love from national media and draft analysts for this pick (and the Bills draft in general).

His bench press was very low for a man his size. Luckily in McD's defensive system, he won't be called on to bench press O lineman very often.

Seriously, though, the poor showing on the bench press may indicate a slack work ethic.

That's been the goal for five years and has never worked. At some point you have to try something different.

At some point you have to get the guys who can pull it off because its the one proven way to beat the Chiefs (TB and Philly).

I think they are very high on Carter.  Also, even if Carter was 80% effective as Jones, they would move on from Jones on age and contract alone (I think)

I liked Carter as a backup/developmental guy behind Oliver. Yet with Sanders and Walker on board and Beane specifically mentioning his role unknown you have to wonder though.

Or given the dice roll that is the draft, keep stacking your chances to hit a home run? I can’t take another playoff game of zero pressure on Patty and getting sliced and diced 7 seconds later…

Or a recent back injury

No idea if these guys will pan out, but love the draft strategy so far.

There's your 1T.  Everyone can rest easy now.

Interesting to me that they took him over Farmer, considering the visits they had with Farmer.  Also, surprised they felt they needed to trade up for him, since the ratings I saw for Walker had him going lower.  ESPN has Walker 10 rating points less than Farmer, for whatever that is worth.

It’s worth nothing.  That’s not a jab at you, but at every stinking “ranking sheet” put out by ESPN or other media sources.  The teams have their own lists and that is all that matters.  When something like this happens, you can rest assured that the Bills had Walker ranked higher and felt they needed to make the move to get him.  I don’t know why people look at these composite ratings lists as if they mean anything at all.

He's the literal tallest DT in draft, 100th percentile.

People are thinking Walker is this big run stuffer. He’s not he’s a big 3 tech. But the bills like penetrating lineman.

Yea, agreed on that. He's definitely not that. I wonder if this means that they'll try to convert Carter into a 1T or if they think he's a longshot to be a long-term impact already.

at the one we've got:
Jones
Ogunjobi (maybe spends time at the 3 too)

At the three we have:
Oliver
Hoecht (spends time at DE too)
Carter
Sanders
Walker

I like that after this draft, our last DT and last DE in rotation should either be a rookie with promising upside or a dependable veteran. There shouldn't be any weak links. With Williams as the 3rd LB, our front 7(6) seems resilient.

Yeah, I think this was one of his 10 players to avoid. Said top heavy with skinny legs who gets pushed all over the yard.

Joe is the guy I listen to more than anyone. There is no one I respect more than Joe Marino. And I think some of his takes on Walker are 100% valid.

But you can also make a few full shows on all the misses Joe has had... When you have to have as many opinions as he has to have, you end up being wrong a lot too... He was convinced Miami had one of the top 5 Rosters in the NFL before the 2024 season... So... B-)

We aren’t missing out on trips to the Super Bowl due to our offense lol.

Not yet, but give it time.

A RD4 pick likely wasn't gonna be the difference this season on offense anyway.  But they don't have the luxury of pleading ignorance either about WRs after entering last season with one of the worst groups in the NFL.

People don't think the offense can tail off with Josh.  That assumption will eventually get them into trouble just like it did to begin 2024.

I like Joe cuz he clearly does his own homework but is entitled to his own opinions. To me Walker in Round 4 is good value. I can't hate on the kid especially if he was playing through back issues in 2024. Hopefully it's recoverable.

They moved to 109 for him and immediately after the Eagles took a DT, followed by another DT going two picks later.

Lots of people speculating that Walker is the exact type of DL that Philly would take and make everyone look dumb for letting drop.

Beane has been pretty on point potentially jumping SF and PHI for his two DT’s.
