For what it's worth, Marino isn't infallible, he really didn't like Terrell Bernard either.

Not saying he's wrong or right, just that everyone has misses.

No one is infallible even the guys who do it professionally

Joe Marino hates him.

I like Marino, but that’s a lot of it.

Huge ceiling, but played with a back issue last year and his play dipped.

Was considered an easy Day 2 pick before the injury.

Marinos college scouting is not too good. Walkers back injury is my main concern, if that is something the Bills think can be managed he should be a good rotation player

Joe Marino is gonna lose his mind! He wanted nothing to do with this guy.

I heard to vastly different opinions. JOE Marino was not kind to this guy.

They also had a Kentucky beat writer on, and he said that you have to watch his 2023 tape, when he wasn't playing through a back injury. He said...this guy was double and triple teamed on every play, and raved about him.

You can't teach size, and in this point in t he draft i love the pick.

If we can some how trade back in and steal Horton, it would be the perfect draft.

Weird how so many people hate him! He seems perfect. What’s the knock?

My concern is that,  at his height,  he may have trouble with playing too high and losing the leverage battle in the run game.

But, he does have potential,  especially with a year or two of coaching and time in the strength and conditioning program.

No offense...yet again. How many DLs do you need, exactly?

Have to think Daquan Jones could be a cut candidate if they want some money this summer.

If not, Walker/Jones is your 1T rotation, with Oliver/Sanders at 3T.  Ogunjobi can play both when he comes back.

Carter becomes the wait and see guy.  Already discussing moving him to 1T, so he better come correct this camp.

We aren’t missing out on trips to the Super Bowl due to our offense lol.

Bills receive:

2025 fourth-round pick (No. 109) -- DT Deone

Walker

Bears receive:

2025 fourth-round pick (No. 132)

2025 fifth-round pick (No. 169)

If this is the 1T they wanted and felt like that's what they needed to do, then so be it.  We did not have 10 roster spots anyways.  I expect at least one more trade, probably two

From Bob McGinn:

Said one scout: “He’s as big as they come. In the trenches you’ve got to play with some type of leverage. He just stands up way too often and gets pushed around a little too much. It’s still a big man’s game and he has some ability when he wants to. He just needs the right environment. He’ll probably end up in Philly and be great.”

Funny bc we moved in front of Philly and they just drafter a DT

from PFF

Pros
Very quick first step for a player of his size
Has a baseline for a variety of pass-rush moves
Has the length to play 3-4 DE
Hand usage is quick despite also very long length
Good natural power in his upper body

Cons
Not a lot of weight in his lower half despite weighing 340 pounds — ankles/calves are skinny
High-waisted build makes it tougher for him to sit in his stance with leverage/power
Pops up quickly out of his stance

This is exactly what the Bills do.  Rotating him will negate much of the “lack of effort, standing up straight because he’s too tired, etc”

“The sweet spot for Walker early in his career will be as a specialized weapon in a heavy rotation. Give him 20-25 snaps per game where he can pin his ears back and hunt, especially in a multiple-front defense that lets him work from different alignments. His natural power and surprising lateral quickness create consistent problems for interior offensive linemen, particularly when he's schemed into one-on-one situations.”

The Bills read this for sure. They jumped two picks ahead of Philly and Philly took a DT
