Are the bills seriously comfortable at wr? I feel like they're taking a big risk trusting the guys they have

We don't have a lot of top-end talent in that unit, but I still think it's a pretty deep WR corps.  With the TE's and RB's we have also, our offense will still be formidable.

I still expect us to take someone, though.  Shakir was a 5th rounder; you never know when it comes to WR's.

I'm not sure there's anyone on the board at this point that makes any kind of impact for this season so... And any of the WRs that have a shot at making an impact as a rookie were out of reach.

It's possible they grab a guy in the 5th but that'll be a guy they develop and bring along at a certain pace, similar to Shakir. His rookie year he had what, 10 or 12 receptions or something? Had more impact in '23, grew into one of Josh's favorite targets in '24 and has a chance to be the go-to guy this year.

I like the Tory Horton kid from Colorado State but I ain't gonna be kickin' rocks or nothing if they don't select him.

The back issue is a real concern. Its not like back issues get better as you put more wear & tear on your body... and as you age. But perhaps thats why he plays so upright, his back?

I dont mind Beane taking swings on these guys, but his track record isn't exactly that great with drafting defensive linemen. I guess time will tell with these new picks. Obviously hoping for the best.

But one of the posters asked 'why do we need 10 players on the DL?' ... Well my answer would be because we dont have many real good ones. And thats what the problem has been, a lack of impact players... with an undersized front that gets pushed around at the point of attack.

None of us know how Walker will turn out, but we really need these guys to step up, otherwise we'll be drafting DLine again real soon.

I forget who it was but it was one of the Cover 1 guys that said the Bills as an organization believe so strongly in their ability to coach and develop they strongly prefer players who have big time traits in areas they covet, but are unfinished. They want to create the best finished product. It's interesting. Especially when you think about what they did with players like Spencer Brown, Groot, Bernard, even AJ... They tried with Elam, but it failed... And no one hits 100%... I think they had the same idea with Coleman and Bishop last year...

we can mold him..

Philadelphia showed that you can win Super Bowls just by outscoring great QBs.

That's literally the opposite of what they did when they won. The shootout was when they lost.

Jesus, you would think that entire first part where I talked about how we were trying to stop Brady with defense and Philly was able to beat him by outscoring him would've been enough of a clue that I wasn't talking about last year's SB that Brady didn't even play in.

Ah, that didn't take long. I knew we'd see some waterworks the minute the pick was announced.

I always love learning every draft day how the difference between a Super Bowl run and fading into obscurity is solely dependent on which person that everyone already passed over three or more times is selected. Last year, it was because we didn't draft Tony Franklin in round 4.

I agree! That’s what makes it fun to laugh at and also you know we are having a great draft because the board hates most of the picks.

People act like they know how all these rookies will pan out in the NFL.  Fact is none of us have a clue lol

Chiefs just drafted Royals. Can't wait to see how our 9th DT in the rotation shuts down that KC passing offense!

Did you watch the Super Bowl?

Ironic how you're complaining that we took the 9th best DT instead of the 17th best WR.

Is this one fat enough for all of you or do we need to go 4bills with the next one?

I live in Houston. Thats not fat. Thats borderline bulimic.  Give me a 1T that needs a rascal to finish a lap around Wal Mart.

I was referring to how we spent a decade trying to build up the defense to stop Brady and never did. We also had no chance of beating him because we didn't have enough resources for pffense. Then the Eagles played him in the Super Bowl, and won because they could score lots of points.

We are making the same mistake with Mahomes. A McDermott defense is not going to shut him down in January. It never has. He is not going to suddenly get good at generating a pass rush.

They're about to draft the next Diggs/Shakir.

I think they'd expect much bigger things from Samuel ,Coleman and Kincaid this year and look at Palmer as a borderline #1, plus Knox and the RBs, that's a nice assortment of weapons

What's ironic about it, exactly? Who do you think will have a bigger impact for his respective team?
