It’s amazing that this is true and you weren’t kidding.

In fairness to their coverage schedule, I’m pretty sure they do that every year to give a few minute spotlight on the humane society of wherever the draft is held…

but then they follow it up with 10 minutes of a Brad Praisely interview.

All fair points. I just question where he fits in as it's a log jam. (If they move him to guard that's a different story)

But I hear what you're saying

Yea there is plenty of depth to the OL. But I'm not gonna knock the pick. He is a good player and being a small school guy there is a reasonable chance they can sneak him onto the PS.

I think it would be a cool story for sure and they do need another LB in the room to compete. I just wonder if they know he's going undrafted and know he will sign as an undrafted free agent. I watched a documentary awhile ago about draft prospects and one of them was a 7th round/udfa and he basically told the team that if you dont take me here in the 7th round i'm not signing with you and then the team signed him. Didn't end up turning out as anything . Just wish I could remember what it was called.

I can’t believe a guy like Riley Leonard was drafted but Rourke and Ewers aren’t? What gives? I can see both rourke And Ewers being very solid career backups.

I was at the combine and Ewers was underwhelming.   Definitely a career backup.

We're almost at my favorite time of draft weekend, when we bring in the undrafted FAs and anoint one of them the ultimate diamond in the rough!

I'm guessing this year it will be a WR with speed to burn but who only caught 2 passes in college

I actually saw shaun at a restaurant a couple weeks ago and I congratulated him and wished him luck on his career

He's you're definitely right about some very late round pics.. there's a lot of guys who know they're going to make an NFL team

And if the phone doesn't ring by the 6th round they actually might have a better chance of selecting their destination and choosing where they want to play

30% of the NFL is undrafted free agents... Getting to pick your scheme fit is huge especially for guys who are projected in the late round range and they go undrafted

But it feels like most of the day three QBs are no better, and without Ewers' big game experience either.

This is how you know you know you watch too much of the draft. They probably took Lundt because they liked him but they know they have no shot at getting him as an UDFA because of the depth on the Bills offensive line. UDFA's look at depth charts. This is why I don't expect a WR with the last pick because they want to have the pick of the litter of whats left now with the WR's. You can take a shot on a Restrepo or a Tez Johnson without an actual investment. I could see them taking something like a RB in the 7th round solely because no RB will sign here as a UDFA. Just wanted to say it before everyone throws up their arms at a position that looks already filled.

I don't think Van Demark and Grable are such incredible powerhouses that it's insane to even think that someone could usurp them on the Roster with a better than expected Training Camp or Pre-Season.

But as you said, Pick 200 onwards is Practice Squad territory. At this point, you take the guy you think is the Best Available regardless of position and hope that they have to push you into a tough decision.

idk, I think the big game experience hurts him in a way. Ewers had a lot of talent around him in Texas, and he often looked terrible in big moments. I’d rather take a chance on a guy who has excuses for being mediocre.

I'm reading the Longhorns forum - they think something in the medical is holding him back, and he didn't look the same after picking up a shoulder injury against Alabama.

But still, it's not as if the QBs being picked are the next Josh/Mahomes. Ewers does have positives too.

I think Grable is an absolute lock for this roster. Vandy, possibly, could be usurped but I'd be stunned. Maybe they try Lundt inside at guard, maybe he just ends up on the PS.

I don't know where teams have him ranked, but with our team and the way it's built, a 7th rounder isn't making the roster.  Practice Squad, sure.  So, I would have no problem giving this kid and his family the thrill of a lifetime and drafting him with our last pick if he's still there.
