Woe is Me

Beane missed on a TBD favorite player. I understand the Chagrin I dislike the chiefs as much as anyone.

at this point is is so much Spilt Milk.  **** that team and their draft picks too

we being bitter over them for MORE reasons?? I don't need any more reasons

**** the red team from kc

I don’t really get this idea that the chiefs never miss on picks that people here have adopted lol. They had to devote all their early picks to oline because they have blown moves to shore up the tackle spots for years now which forced them into having to wait a long time to add any fun skill position playmakers.

like yea maybe royals is great and the litany of teams that needed WRs that passed on him a bunch of times are wrong but im thinking this board probably overvalued him a bit the way this all went down

Trade up for Horton

If they trade 206 and 170 they can get close to Chicago at 148 (our favorite trade partner his year).  But, need a trade partner.

Does a rookie step on and lead the team?  Probably not. Especially where we draft.

Do they need a guy who can?  Yes. Trubs Anne the guy, White has played in this league and feel better with him.

Not sure we can get a vet to come here and be backup like Reich used to do. 2nd string vets want to go somewhere where they feel the first stringers staring job is tenuous.  Or, hopefully not, 1st stinger is injury prone.

Why not? Did Jaden Daniels step in and lead his team? Stroud the year prior? Those are extreme examples but in 2025 it happens a lot. Purdy is an even better example and he was Mr. Irrelevant. If you asked 32 teams who they would rather start in a game tomorrow Mike White or Shadeur Sanders, 32 teams would pick Sanders. If the Jameis Winston type of vets go places with a rocky QB situation it even further strengthens the point that you need to draft a guy there if you have an elite starter. We need to look at it through the lens of “what if Josh misses a month?” That’s all that matters for a backup.

They don't have 169 anymore. Though 170 would carry a similar weighting.

That has more to do with our strong roster than a perceived weak draft though.

Our defense was in the bottom half of the league last year.  Our safeties are probably the worst pairing in the league.

They were graded the worst I believe per Jeremy wgr

With this recent run of DTs, I bet Beane trades up to avoid missing out on his next one

Nah.  We need to conserve resources so that we can draft a 215lb coverage LB.
