San Francisco just one-upped the Bills using their first *5* picks on defense, taking CJ West.

Every pick in R4 is just pissing me off, these are the value guys us mock drafters go chub for.

2 issues with this pick.  The dude is just big, no ability.  CJ West is a MUCH better player.  Also, trading picks and need a safety still.  The love by this FO for Rapp and Hamlin is baffling.  Both are good, but could/should be upgraded.

Beane absolutely crushing it when it comes to reading the board.

Traded up to 41 as DL flying off the board.  Get Sanders. A guy SF was high on at 43.  SF takes Collins.

Trades up to 109 for Deone Walker.  Philly takes a DT two picks later, another DT comes off right after.

FFS what?!

Beane and McDermott do realise there's something other than defense, don't they?

They realize that the defense has let them down in the playoffs too many times

You can't get them all.

I thought the same thing.  I don't pretend to know anything about either of them, but they did visit with Farmer, Farmer was rated higher, and Farmer was right there at value.

Trust the process

I do not trust the DL process.  While I liked the first 2 picks this year, the current pick is a puzzle.

I really hate that I always have to be this guy, but why does this regime continue to undervalue WR more than any other position? They have spent none of their top picks giving some help to their MVP. It's so on brand it's almost parody.

Maybe I'm wrong about Royals and/or Horton and they'll still be on the board at the end of R5. I'll hope so.

Because they score 30 per game with what we have, and we keep losing playoff games because of...checks notes...DEFENSE.

I hear you but I would counter they spent their first pick last year on Coleman, traded for Cooper. The prior draft traded up for Kincaid. Unfortunately, they didn’t hit on those picks.  Beane seems like he values FA WR more than taking them early in the draft.

I’m certainly envious of the WR room the Texans, Minny, Cinncy and the Bears have.

Maybe you should apply for a job in the front office if you know so much about player development

You mean what on Earth are the Bills playing at if they release Vigil or Shavers?

There has to be something else they have planned.

Either a trade or maybe they're not done coming up.

Man I don't know. Their plan last year was Claypool competing against MVS. I thought after trading for Cooper they had learned from their mistake. But would it be a huge shock if the plan is Laviska Shenault competing against some Claypool-esque reclamation project? They have told us and continue to tell us they just don't value the position.

Let’s hope. Keon is still the only WR drafted in the first 3 rounds since Josh Allen got here. That is malpractice though I did like the first three picks this year.

Because we never fixed the defense

Correct. Many on this thread don’t realize you don’t draft in a vacuum. There are many moving parts and the Bills have timed this just about perfectly.

I’m not as excited about Walker as I am about the previous picks, but he is absolutely a swing for the fences.  First team All-SEC opinion 2023, really didn’t play well last year - hope it was the nagging injuries.  Could be a home run or a strike out.

New guys in the mix though. Babich with a year under his belt and likely more say.. and they brought in some really respected assistant D coaches.
