No, this cannot be, would be a humiliation for Beane. White, Jackson, Lawson, Miller?, Phillips?... if it is true, all the more reason to get another high quality defensive tackle in the draft, and soon--4th round. And use some draft capital to move up and get a better one if needed. Quote

You just have to believe in the projection because he played something like 70% of his snaps at 4T in College and he's a linear athlete... But he's a hell of an athlete. He turned 22 this past January... The 9.78 RAS speaks for itself. Jackson is about as Billsy as it gets. Team Captain... Tall and athletic DE... I think the Bills Defense got a lot better these past two nights... It's all on paper right now, but I'm going to go ahead and tip my hat to Beane... He picked at 30, 41 and 72 and got the number 26, 30, and 48 players on my personal board... I absolutely destroyed the Bills Defense throughout the year last year. Their 3rd Down Defense gave me such agita last year during games I worried about being insufferable on Game Day threads. I went back and looked at texts I sent my Nephew complaining during games with statements like "we're SO slow on D"... "we're just not athletic enough..."...and so on... We added 9.78, 9.63, and 9.38 RAS athletes to that Defense the past 2 days... That really means something to me. And yes they are good football players. To be honest right now I can't imagine I could have been much happier with the 1st three picks in total. Nice mix...good players...outstanding athletes...good locker room fits... I like it... And I think all three have sizable upside. With that, I assume you are on the same bandwagon as I am for Saturday. NOW, get that 2nd corner, someone who could become a starting caliber soon, and give the Bills their missing depth at the position--and also save the money by cutting the likes of White and/or Jackson, who are the definition of what had you so concerned last season. And the exact same thing for defensive tackle, to stop, once and for all, the endless parade of once had beens, could have beens, and never will bes that have inundated the Bills the last few years and diminished the defense in the ways you describe so well. Parlay the picks we have into better picks to make this happen. And then the Phili KC type of defensive rebuild will be even more likely. Great post, one of the best of the gazillion tonight. 1 1 Quote

I was pretty anti-Landon Jackson bc I assumed that meant we were taking him at 30 or moving up in the 2nd to grab him. Taking him in the 3rd after moving down from 62 and after taking a CB and a DT? I'm def on board with that. 1 3 Quote

But after googling AJE 40 time it was in the 5s. This guy I about 4.68. D will be faster. Yeah and he doesn't take the "ridge route" to the qb like Epenesa. Landon will easily be AJ's replacement. 1 Quote

So far Beane has taken my 8th BPA (Hairston); 7th BPA (Sanders); and 10th BPA (Jackson) and in each case there were 2 or 3 guys above them who were sliding because of injury or character issues. So at least from my perspective so far the Bills have been in the ballpark in terms of following the board. I wonder if any PO team was closer to your board than Bills. Because 8/7/10 seems hard to beat. Obviously there were some teams who top current BPAs on your board or top 3 but that average is really good. Maybe have a look at Ravens, Eagles and Chiefs if you have a chance. Edited 7 hours ago by No_Matter_What Quote

I know for a fact Mukuba (Eagles) and Gillotte (Chiefs) were outside my top 15 when they were picked. Not that either guy was miles away but they were more like 20-25 BPA by my board than top 10. The Ravens took my best available with their first two picks - Malaki Starks and Mike Green were both #1 on my board by the point they went - but then Emery Jones I had a low 4th on so he was way outside and would drag the average down. Similar happened with the Bills in 2019 I seem to recall. Other than Singletary, who was more in the 20s of my best available the rest of their first six picks: Oliver, Ford, Knox, Joseph and Johnson were all there or thereabouts my top 10 when they were picked. Bill from NYC Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) This kid is going to be great imo. I was at the Alabama vs. Arkansas in 2023 and Jasckson was unstoppable. I have no idea how or why he lasted this long. I would have been perfectly happy if we took him in the second round, if not round one.
