I think the very fact that I'm talking about Shedeur with the pronouns they/them is a very BAD sign. Nobody wants to deal with Deion! In fairness Shaduer said "we" over and over again when asked about turning an NFL team around. I agree with whoever else posted that it would have served Shaduer well to have a different coach than pops at some point. And for the record. I find Deion entertaining. He's without hyperbole one of the greatest all around athletes to ever walk the earth. I like him in college football (although disappointed he gave up on the whole HBCU thing) and I'd like him as an NFL coach. He's must watch TV. There's a lot more insufferable people in the NCAA and NFL. But that's not the kind of dude I would want as a helicopter parent around my org who has access to the national media and a microphone 2-3 days per week. Retiring his number reinforces this argument as well. Oddly enough Shilo seems to be the most grounded Sanders by far which makes him an interesting prospect to me. 1 Quote

Coaches and GMs are probably correctly seeing Deion as a massive headache though and avoiding the whole package. I get what you are saying….the problem I have is i don't see any team other than Dallas hiring his dad as their head coach if he is the QB there. we have had QBs drafted where there dads were more involved in their kid QB who do I think drafts him— Rams, Steelers, or a team that thinks they could trade him in 2 yrs and get a 1st+ for him Quote

Mike in Horseheads Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago In a way going undrafted might be better than being a 7th round pick. Then your a FA and go where ya want and not get a slotted contract. Of course someone has to want you to. I also think Dallas takes him, they don't have a backup 1 Quote

I'm not putting money on it though. That team seems to thrive on chaos and they just won the Super Bowl. Pickett got traded. Backing up a Super Bowl winning QB is nothing to sneeze at and the Eagles could flip it for a 2nd or 3rd in a couple of years with having a high quality backup. Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago This thread is perfect for the Sanders discussion. I’m ready to take on all arguments for why he hasn’t been drafted. He isn’t good enough. That’s why. Anyone disagree? Quote

Matt_In_NH Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago There are lots of examples of guys who put up numbers in college and cannot make it in the nfl. He does a not have some of the qualities teams want today at the position. Plus he comes with extras attention, a lot of it that teams usually want no part of. Quote
BillsFanForever19 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) If it gets to a point where it's late in Round 5, he's still on the board, and we still have 4 picks between 169 and 177 - I'd pull the trigger. I don't think he'll last that long and I don't know that Beane would do it. But I would. Sanders could easily end up being a better Backup option than Trubisky or White and if he showed something in Training Camp or in garbage duty, he could become a trade piece after a year for more than we paid. And if he causes problems or doesn't work out for whatever reason? Just cut him. At that point in the Draft, it's not the end of the world if a player taken at 176 or later doesn't make it. Low risk gamble. Edited 1 hour ago by BillsFanForever19 Quote
NoSaint Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 7 hours ago, JFKjr said: Not really. You definitely WOULD take a flyer on someone whose talent you aren't completely convinced about. Issues of coachability, he 'doesn't watch film,' a poor interview, teams he doesn't want to play for, and some very obvious Hall of Fame Daddy Baggage means the team becomes a media circus (not in a good way) as soon as this kid arrives. Some coaches can handle all that. Many might prefer not to. And I definitely don't think they got together to discuss 'humbling' this kid beforehand. There are lots of draftees who are full of themselves. That's far from the only problem here. It'll be interesting to see who's willing to take a chance on him! ultimately, I think many believe that if they don’t (1) go all in on him and (2) succeed wildly - that Deion will be loudly calling for their jobs either in the media and/or privately with ownership it’s one thing to face the pressure of a top 5-10 pick being career defining - but to have that possibly be the case of a lower tier talent class that is a much longer shot? And one that might have been actively disrespectful to you? 1 1 Quote

Part of it is him not having elite skills and size that's true but if you want to argue that as of today he's a worse quarterback than someone like Jalen Milroe who just got taken in the 3rd round I completely disagree. I watched them both quite a bit last year and he is for sure a better player right now. He doesn't have elite arm talent but he has enough. He definitely struggles with lateral movement and pocket awareness but he also is very accurate and doesn't turn the ball over much. On top of that his output is incredible. Plain and simple the kid lost money going into the combine acting like he was already a top 5 pick. The combine is about answering questions. People wondered about his arm strength and he didn't throw. People wondered about his entitlement issues and he decided to act like he was above the process. Unless he was a shoe in #1 pick he should have went out there and earned it and he didnt. NFL teams want their franchise QBs to be football players first and foremost. Head down and learning. Setting the example for the rest of the team. They don't want social media stars, wanna be rappers, who already act like they earned it. Sanders should have went into this process acting like his name was John Smith but instead he got horrible advice and acted like a giant jerk. He has the talent. Teams don't want his entitlement. This should get interesting moving forward. Guys like Will Howard, Quinn Ewers, Kyle McCord, and Riley Leonard are all still there. The Sanders' family thinks Shedeur is a starter in the NFL. Will teams choose guys like Leonard who are maybe a little less talented but more coachable and willing to be a back up over Shedeur? 1 Quote
