As someone who felt Sanders could develop into a nfl starter, race has never once entered my mind. It’s about his attitude and his family. I will never believe purely football wise, Gabriel and the 40 year old the Saints drafted are better prospects than Sanders. I also completely not wanting to deal with Sanders and him really needing to mature into be a leader. I think this could be the best thing for him. He gets humbled and can learn without the pressure of being a franchise guy. But that Colorado team besides him and Hunter pretty much sucked. And those two guys almost single handedly made them into a respectable program. He also did the same at SCSU. Sorry you live in a cave. It’s being talked about in comments online (not trolls) and on TV. What do you think they mean when they beat around the bush about why he isn’t drafted? When they bring up the good ol’ boys club of NFL owners ??? You, don’t talk about race if it makes you uncomfortable, it’s okay. He didn’t get drafted because of his skill. Then, he’s a joke as a person + family. Sorry that that there’s thousands upon thousands of people in the country discussing that race has something to do with it. This thread is dissecting reasons he wasn’t drafted yet, and part of that is the expectations set forth by talking heads in media. Who are blatantly Turing tail and blaming everyone under the sun, including race, for why he hasn’t been picked.. because they don’t want to admit that they didn’t see how bad of a pro prospect he is. Dont call me a race baiter. Thanks. 1 Quote

I don’t think I say one comment in this thread about race until this morning and you have like 15 posts about the media and their narrative. Seems like you really want that to be the case. but in a really boring draft, this is by far the most exciting story. Of course the media is going to take about it. There is nothing exciting to talk about. This is also probably the first time in his life that being Deion’s son is bad for him (also him not being an entitled rich kid). All things being equal, he has already been drafted now. Edited 11 hours ago by C.Biscuit97 1 Quote

At some point his abilities should get him drafted as a backup or project All the stuff that comes with him? Teams are not willing to use a high draft pick on that. 1 Quote
frostbitmic Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago One GM called him the worst interview he's ever had. He basically said he was entitled and arrogant and that the GM removed him from their list. Of course that might come from a GM who Sanders daddy didn't want him drafted to. 3 Quote

Good post. It’s also tough because besides his tremendous physical skills (it’s funny that the knock on Deion’s son is he isn’t athletic enough), Deion’s confidence made him great. When I played (cue up glory days), I would get in my head and I was always jealous of the super confident players. But there is a fine line between confidence and cockiness. Especially at QB. Allen has some cockiness but he is a tremendous leader and not entitled (which given his background makes sense). Quote

Just the structure of the billion dollar sports machine that is the NFL makes it far less common to happen. Player ability and marketability and the money that it produces ultimately is what drives the NFL. Weird part about all this? It will probably drive more conversation and “hot takes” for the talking heads than if he was drafted first round. 1 Quote

I don't think he'll last that long and I don't know that Beane would do it. But I would. Sanders could easily end up being a better Backup option than Trubisky or White and if he showed something in Training Camp or in garbage duty, he could become a trade piece after a year for more than we paid. And if he causes problems or doesn't work out for whatever reason? Just cut him. At that point in the Draft, it's not the end of the world if a player taken at 176 or later doesn't make it. Low risk gamble. At this point with JA in his prime, the back up qb’s are here to help him. Get him prepped help him see things on film and support him. They are not being developed… that’s a role for young qb’s with older vets. The distraction is not needed. And his skill set requires the Bills to adapt to him. That’s not happening. 1 Quote

No one on TV wants to admit that they pushed Sanders for clicks. That they and their bosses in the offices are in bed with clicks. There’s a smaller group of “experts” that took themselves seriously as experts. They look like fools now, and are scraping for their jobs. Daniel Jeremiah is supposed to give us accurate info about the inter workings of teams. He’s supposed to be a real expert with real info. Not a talking head. NFL network cannot keep him. I’ll laugh at everything he says now in his expert voice. The networks aren’t shy about ditching these guys anymore. It’ll be fox sports, then cbssports, then podcast guest spots, and he’ll be paying for his own insurance soon. He’s touted as an expert, and he’s proven he’s clueless in such a big way, about the brightest spot in the draft, about the biggest position in sports. That’s so embarrassing. He knows. 1 1 Quote
BuffBillsForLife Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago If the Steelers don't draft him I think there is a legitimate chance he goes undrafted, unless Jerruh takes him with a 7th. And it really is mostly Deion's fault: - pre-draft list of teams you won't let your son play for turning off everybody - if a team drafts him to be a starter, Deion will try to get the coach fired so he can be the coach - if a team drafts him to be a backup, Deion will try to get the starter benched or force a trade so his son can start Shedeur is a good QB who would otherwise already be off the board, but he's not a can't-miss franchise QB pick so he just isn't worth the circus. I don't think the terrible interview is playing into it all that much. His dad was a blessing for him by getting him national attention and success but now he's dragging him down to the bottom of the ocean. 2 Quote
QLBillsFan Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Once a QB doesn’t go in round 1 it’s not often he’s viewed as a first year starter. Bo Nix is a rare exception. So, then they become developmental. What about SS suggests that? He’s arrogant, didn’t work out, and his dad was trying to dictate where he goes. That works if you are elite. He’s not. And he comes across according to the teams drafting as not coachable. Not the “experts” on MM, but those who know. And his game is pocket and that is not the current NFL. But man those interviews must have been bad. I am not surprised. Quote

The race blaming for his fall is all over the internet-mostly said by people who don't watch sports & are always looking to stir things up on a topic they know nothing about. It's like the people who see a story on the news that has nothing to do with their agenda, but condemn the person who the story is about to make what is usually a ridiculous point. They do this on all sorts of topics they are ignorant of. 2 Quote
