Cleveland's roster was good enough 2 years ago to make the playoffs with 5 separate QBs starting games.  The roster isn't bad at all.  There are holes, sure.  But there are holes on pretty much every NFL roster outside of Philly.  They need a QB.  With good QB play, they can compete.  With QB play like last year, you go 3-14.  Not rocket science.

2 years ago is a lifetime in the NFL

The downside is you could have used that pick to help a horrible roster. They already picked a QB they liked better. We’d be pissed if the Bills drafted two QBs to compete for a backup role

This is how bad teams stay bad

For the first time in a long time, the Browns are drafting smart. Two QBs drafted may not seem like it, but now Shedeur has to earn it. He wouldn't have to earn it if he was picked in Round 1 or 2.

People forget the Browns were a playoff team in 2023, 2020. They won't be 3-14 next year, book it.

Mel Kiper knows more than every GM in the league combined apparently.

Some of these draftniks really need to get over themselves.

Smart by CLE. bookmark this

(Literally no downside and possible upside, trades) albeit, CLE will mess things up whatever happens.

No downside? Did you see what just happened with Deshawn Watson? 😂

Watson will never play another snap in Cleveland.  He will go on IR this year, and then be cut or stashed the year after.

I feel ripped off then because he said a couple of weeks ago he'd come back better than ever.

He meant back to the massage parlors

Kiper made it about him all three days of this draft.  The Sanders fall was a significant story but NFL Network did a much better job at highlighting/celebrating the players that were drafted.

CLE paid a crappy 5th.
CLE paid Watson $230M

(you may want to not invest in stocks…)

It will be the same media exposure and scrutiny aka a clown show. PM me if you need stock tips

If they didn’t draft Gabriel, they are having a really strong draft. It’s a lottery ticket and if he sucks or is annoying, they get rid of him. Not sure what the downside is since he’s a 5th rounder.

I think the downside is just how to manage and properly evaluate that QB room now. I don’t think anyone would have questioned the Browns if they took Sanders early in this draft. But the way it played out and now having two mid to late round rookies, two vets, and the Watson disaster all there just creates higher risk of a throw away season this year.

They won’t be 3-14 huh? Way to go out on a limb. It’s a dumb move, they used two mid round picks on back up QBs. Stupid

The Gabriell pick was stupid, yes.

See how it plays out.

Why is he being touted as a pocket passer with limited mobility?

I suggest watching film and forming your own opinion.

I see a little of Deon in Shedurs play. Sprinkle of greatness perhaps

It was a crazy way for the Browns to finally do something right at the QB position in my humble opinion.

He didn't seem too upset to be picked by Cleveland in the 5th Round. That poor dog didn't understand what the hell was going on though. 😂

Love the reaction. Good for him.

At a 5th-round price, there’s nearly no downside. Like a good stock play, every risk/reward call comes down to value, floor, and upside — and a 5th has way more upside

There is big downside with the distraction having him on the roster could become.

Imagine thinking Cleveland outsmarted the rest of the league

The Browns can't outsmart the cardboard box they somehow both accidentally and on purpose got their head stuck in.
