Please and thanks. A guy like Milton Williams? He played under 50% of the snaps for the eagles If a player makes impact plays in key situations, being a “rotational piece” means nothing. If he doesn’t- then, it will be a bad pick/trade. 1 Quote

Whether that is the right or wrong way to do it is fair to question, but it is how they use them, even Ed Not untrue, but that would make me question even more the logic of trading up for a guy to max out at 30-40% of the snaps? Just seems to me 80% of snaps is inherently more valuable than 30%. 1 Quote

But the trade was fine. The DL run started with our pick, so looks like Beane was able to get out ahead of it and lock in the guy he wanted. Wasnt going to be anything left by 56. Still plenty of time to draft a big body in the middle. 1 Quote

BigDingus Posted Saturday at 01:02 AM Posted Saturday at 01:02 AM And this is why I say I don't like the Bills investing more early picks in D. I don't think a trade was necessary, but they honed in on the guy they wanted & paid extra to get him. Hope it pans out. 1 Quote

Definitely a pattern for this regime - which I don't mind. True, but the same thing was said for Carter last year. He may be the forgotten man here bc in the first 5 games prior to injury he looked like he could be a player. Upon return...not so much 2 Quote

Agree I also like JM but he’s one opinion 🤷🏻♂️, plenty of others thinks he’s a mid to late 2nd round pick .. Grant went 13 many thought he was 30-40. Once the first 12-15 went it’s my understanding the next group from 15-75 are similar and are about team fit. But I could be wrong 😆 Quote

somnus00 Posted Saturday at 01:03 AM Posted Saturday at 01:03 AM After the superbowl, everyone wanted a d-line that gets to the quarterback. This guy penetrates and gets in the backfield quick. 1 Quote

Beane saw the run coming and got out ahead of it. 3 1 Quote

When they took Oliver there are many other DTs who have been better who were taken after him. We will see about sanders and Carter in time. I can't compare players, but I do know that one coach who played the Bills last year said that they set up their offensive scheme by first planning how they can contain Oliver. That's not a bad thing. Quote

I think that’s very much overblown, even with Daquan Jones looking washed. You can get 1t’s anywhere. What I do NOT get is the draft strategy of giving up capital for a player who the best reasonable expectation is “rotational piece” for the next 2-3 seasons. i was a big Nolen fan. I wanted Beane to take him at 30 if he was there. I would be AGHAST if he traded this years 1 and next years 1 to get him. That’s just poor strategy. It’s fine to trade up for a BTJ when you have no WR on the roster. It would be fine to trade up for Sanders if Eddy was traded. But otherwise it just seems like bad resource management especially for a player I don’t particularly like. Jmo ofc Quote
